Youwill work within a multi-disciplinary team and interface with sales, support, purchasing, and manufacturing to ensure successful transfer of designs to production. You will own several laser projectsamong various customersand be responsible fordelivering robust, manufacturable solutionsfrom requirement captureall the way to deployment.\nWe are passionate about Quantum Technology!If you feel the same, in this position you will:\nCapturerequirementsfrom,andbuild deepunderstanding of customer applications in quantum computing and sensing. Further you willtranslate this understanding into complex and highly specialized fiber laser systems, including:\n\nLight generation (seed lasers, amplifiers, frequency stabilization)\n\nLight processing (frequency conversion, electro-optical and acousto-optical modulation, fiber Bragg gratingsand more)\n\nLight delivery (viaourproprietary Photonics Crystal Fiber platform)\n\nAssure manufacturability and production scalability of laser systems aligned with ambitious customer roadmaps\n\nSupport and inspire the development of complex electronics control systems, including analog and digital communication backbones\n\nInvent and inspire new technologydevelopment within fiber-based optics, contributing to IP generation\n\nMore About You:\nAs a strong candidate for this position, we hope you can tick most of the following boxes:\nMinimum of a Master’s degree in scienceor engineering, preferably within a photonics research environment(ideally PhD level education)\n\nMultiple years of experience in photonics-based quantum computing or sensing applications, ideally in an industrial setting (e.g., ion trapping, neutral atoms, photonic quantumcomputing, atom interferometryor similar)\n\nProven ability to translate quantum application requirements into laser system specifications\n\nDeep understanding ofthefundamentalphysics and technology around:\n\nLasers\n\nLight amplification\n\nNon-linear frequency conversion\n\nPhotonic integrated circuits\n\nLaser frequency metrology and stabilization (e.g.frequency combs)(ideally on fiber-based platforms)\n\nExpertisein lightprocessing andmodulation using electro-optical and acousto-optical technologies(ideally on fiber-based platforms)\n\nHands-onlabexpertisein free-space and fiber optics\n\nProven ability to manageand organize multipleconcurrentengineering projects and work packages(ideally in the role of project manager)\n\nProven ability to lead and supervise small project teams across disciplines\n\nExperience in programming (ideallyinPython)\n\nFluent in English (written and spoken)\n\nWillingness to travel up to 10% annually, potentially globally\n\nKeep your personal data safe\nHamamatsu (\"The Company\") take responsibly for the protection of your personal data.
