You will work hands-on with the development of robust, opto-mechanical solutions, covering the full lifecycle from early concepts and prototypes to qualification and manufacturing release. The role requires strong technical judgment, practical engineering skills, and the ability to translate requirements into manufacturable designs.\nYou will be part of the mechanical engineering team in Denmark, working in cross-functional product development projects within a global organization. We continue to invest in our facilities, tools, and teams to support long-term growth.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nTake responsibility for mechanical development of laser products throughout the full product lifecycle.\n\nCollaborate closely with mechanical engineers, optical, and electronics engineers on concept development, prototyping, and design maturation.\n\nOwn defined work packages within product development projects and contribute to planning, execution, and delivery together with project managers.\n\nDesign precision mechanical and opto-mechanical components including creation of 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings.\n\nSupport prototype assembly, functional testing, and product qualification.\n\nSupport manufacturing of existing laser products, custom orders, and continuous product improvement.\n\nEnsure product compliance and certification according to relevant standards.\n\nContribute to manufacturing release and production ramp-up.\n\nWork with purchasing and suppliers to identify cost-effective manufacturing solutions for parts and subassemblies, including sourcing and qualifications of new suppliers.\n\nYour skills and experience\nA Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering\n\n5+ years of experience with pression mechanics or industrial high-tech equipment.\n\nStrong 3D CAD skills: SolidWorks experience is preferred\n\nExperience with opto-mechanical systems, components, or laser products is highly advantageous.\n\nAbility to take ownership and lead mechanical product development.\n\nExperience working with design for reliability and manufacturability.\n\nStrong competence in robust design methodologies.\n\nSolid knowledge of mechanical design and drawing standards for precision CNC machined and sheet metal parts.\n\nHands-on practical skills and knowledge of state-of-the-art manufacturing methods.\n\nPractical experience with 3D printing and basic mechanical workshop tools.\n\nKnowledge of materials science.\n\nExperience with PLM/Vault systems and standard Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, etc.)\n\nExpertise with finite element analysis\n\nExperience with thermal flow simulations.\n\nWell-developed analytical abilities: able to question complex information, identify root causes, and deliver strong technical solutions.\n\nFluent English written and spoken (English is the official company language).\n\nKeep your personal data safe\nHamamatsu (\"The Company\") take responsibly for the protection of your personal data.
