Perform body repair, overhaul, inspect and diagnosis of Transit Fleet vehicles in an efficient and effective manner with a high degree of quality to reduce or eliminate premature wear/corrosion, service calls, in-service failures and provide maximum service dependability.\nGENERAL DUTIES\nFile, grind, sand, fill and finish metal and fiberglass.\nCutting and bending / restoration of metal components. Plasma and oxyacetylene use.\nDraws on abilities pertaining to Welding practices using MIG, TIG, Electric and oxyacetylene, including aluminum.\nWeld breaks in body and frames, associated parts, and fabricate as required.\nCorrect Accident / Collision vehicles to OEM standards.\nGlass window / windshield and framing replacement as required.\nUse of all types of fastening methods, including rivets, welding, chemical bonding etc.\nRequired to use skills and competency in the repair of fibreglass.\nRemove, refurbish and install parts / components / systems necessary to perform body repairs.\nAssist 310T Technicians and other trades as required by ministry standards.\nRecord, enter, review data as directed to provide accurate and timely vehicle repair information.\nWorks in accordance with the provisions of applicable Health and Safety legislation and all City of Hamilton corporate and departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.\nThe duties and relationships outlined in this description are intended to cover only the significant responsibilities. Other duties which are related to the Transit Maintenance functions may be assigned from time to time by the Supervisor or designate.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a valid Ontario Driver's Licence, Class \"C\", with \"Z\" endorsement.\nMust have and maintain a valid Autobody and Collision Damage Repairer (310B) Ontario Trade Licence.\nMust be physically capable of using heavy tools and equipment as necessary.\nSupply and maintain an adequate set of personal hand tools required for the job.\nAble to work with minimum supervision. Be familiar with safe work practices involving equipment, machinery and various chemicals. Knowledge of WHMIS, SDS, MTO and safety standards.\nAbility to demonstrate walking, lifting, climbing, and safe equipment usage in a dynamic industrial work environment.\nTHIS POSITION REQUIRES A VALID CLASS \"G\" DRIVER'S LICENCE AND PROOF THEREOF IS REQUIRED AFTER HIRE.\nSALARY: Hourly \nSalary Grade 15T\nHOURS:\n40 per week\nSHIFT:\nTo be determined.
