We offer unmatched benefits and competitive wages in a stimulating and rewarding environment.\n.\nHourly Wage: $25.85\nEssential Job Functions:\n(Duties listed are neither intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.)\nTechnical:\nOrder material and supplies.\nReceive parts, materials and supplies verifying quality and quantity for acceptance.\nPrepare and ships packages. Containerize and crate material to be shipped.\nUnpack, inventory, and stock items in their proper locations within the storeroom or maintenance facility.\nMaintain the cleanliness of the storeroom and tool room.\nMonitor service contractors.\nSecure price comparisons on items to be procured and works closely with the buyer.\nUnload supplies from delivery trucks as needed.\nTransport parcels between the operating divisions and vendors as needed.\nResearch part numbers and description in parts manual.\nInventory fuels and lubricants daily and place fuel orders as needed.\nParticipate in annual assessment of physical inventory. Conduct cyclical inventories.\nMark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.\nDistribute stock among workers as needed, records material issued and inputs work order information in the computer.\nMaintain tool room and administers tool room procedures including issuing and receipt of tools.\nOperate a forktruck.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nAdministrative/Teamwork:\nInteract effectively, courteously, and professionally with operations department employees and other HRT employees regarding vehicle repairs and other shop business.\nAssume primary responsibility of assigned projects.\nTrain other HRT employees in the safe and efficient performance of warehouse operations.\nMaintain files on manufacturer’s part numbers.\nManage records created and received in compliance with the Hampton Roads Transit Records Management Policies and Procedures.\nEnter and update storeroom information in electronic database including receipts and parts received, ordered, and issued.\nResponsible for the administration of material reclaim procedures and material warranty recovery and disposition.\nIdentify and process items to be reordered.\nGenerate computerized reports.\nPrepare and file requisitions, quotes, and various storeroom documents.\nOSHA/Safety/Environmental:\nMaintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with HRT/OSHA standards.\nMaintain awareness and compliance with all current HRT, local, state, and federal regulations, such as regulations governing the handling and disposal of hazardous waste and use of personal protection equipment.\nRequired Software Knowledge and Skills essential to Job Functions:\nProficiency in using computer systems and the listed software applications associated with performance of assigned work is essential. Basic problem-solving skills associated with software applications used is expected. Software usage relevant to job duties will be evaluated.\nSoftware applications:\nAbility to learn specialized computerized maintenance management systems\nSafety Responsibility:\nPerform all job duties and responsibilities in a safe manner to protect oneself, fellow employees, and the public from injury or harm. Promote safety awareness and follow safety procedures and policies. Take an active part in reporting unsafe conditions and any hazards within the workplace to their Supervisor, Manager and/or the Safety Department.\nTraining and/or Education:\nHigh school diploma/GED required.\nRequired Experience:\nMust have general inventory control, shipping and receiving experience. Customer service experience and proficiency with computer literacy and basic mathematical computation required.\nLicenses or Certificates:\nPossess a valid Driver's License. Acquire a Virginia Driver's License within 60 days after the date of hire (in instances when an out of state license is not the applicant's current state of residence).\nSpecial Requirements:\nMust pass HRT’s written and technical skills assessment(s) with a minimum 70% score for each segment to be considered for employment in the position.\nThis position is classified as essential personnel.\nWritten and verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able interpret and carry out verbal and written assignments.\nFLSA Status:\nNon-exempt\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to climb steps, bend, carry, lift (up to 50 lbs.), and reach above shoulders.
