Field Applications Engineer will provide field technical support for radar systems delivered to U.S. customers, with primary responsibility for maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolution of field issues.\nThe role will also support customer demonstrations and field tests, responding to technical issues that arise during operation, and provide technical support for customer engagements and business proposals as needed.\nThe ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with radar systems and be capable of independently diagnosing field issues while coordinating with engineering teams for resolution.\nKey Responsibilities\nProduct Installation and Field Operations Support\nInstall AESA radar systems at customer sites in the United States and perform initial configuration, calibration, and commissioning.\nSupport interfaces and system integration between the radar and C2/command systems.\nSupport field testing and customer acceptance testing.\nVerify system operating status and confirm proper functionality.\nProvide customers with basic operation and maintenance training.\nField Support & Maintenance\nProvide on-site technical support for radar systems deployed at customer locations.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, system, and interface-related issues.\nPerform corrective maintenance, system recovery, configuration changes, and software/firmware updates as required.\nAnalyze system logs, radar data, and operational conditions to identify root causes of field issues.\nCoordinate with engineering teams to resolve complex technical issues and implement corrective actions.\nTrack recurring field issues and support continuous product improvement.\nDemonstration & Field Test Support\nSupport radar demonstrations, customer evaluations, and field tests.\nAssist with system setup, configuration, operation, and basic performance verification.\nTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during demonstrations or field testing.\nProvide on-site technical coordination between customers and engineering teams.\nCustomer & Business Support\nRespond to customer technical inquiries regarding radar operation and performance.\nProvide technical input for customer meetings, proposals, and business development activities.\nSupport preparation of technical materials and responses to customer requirements.\nCommunicate customer feedback and field requirements to internal engineering teams.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.\n10+ years of field engineering experience supporting radar systems, including operation, testing, maintenance, or field support.\nStrong understanding of overall radar system operation and basic radar principles.\nAbility to understand and interpret radar outputs and performance data, including range, direction, velocity, detection, and tracking information.\nExperience troubleshooting integrated hardware/software systems.\nBasic understanding of network interfaces such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, and UDP.Ability to analyze technical logs, test results, and system behavior to identify and resolve problems.\nStrong problem-solving and customer communication skills.\nAbility to travel to customer sites and test locations within the United States.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting AESA or phased-array radar systems.\nExperience with C-UAS, air surveillance, or ground surveillance radar systems.\nExperience in radar field service, maintenance, or customer technical support.\nExperience supporting radar demonstrations and field tests.\nExperience integrating radar systems with C2 or other external systems.\nExperience working in the defense or aerospace industry.\nExperience supporting U.S. defense customers or defense contractors.\nCore Competencies\nRadar System Knowledge: Understanding of radar operation, detection, tracking, and overall system behavior.\nField Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve hardware, software, interface, and operational issues in the field.\nMaintenance & Customer Support: Ability to provide responsive technical support throughout product operation.\nField Test Support: Ability to support demonstrations, testing, configuration, and issue resolution on site.\nTechnical Communication: Ability to effectively communicate technical issues between customers and engineering teams.\nHanwha Defense USA is committed to pay
