This position works closely with cross-functional departments to monitor financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide financial insights to support management decision-making.The Financial Analyst performs financial analysis, reporting, and planning support activities under the guidance of the FP&A Manager.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\n1.General Responsibilities\nWork to ensure that everyone inside the shipyard is safe and performing their work in accordance with HPSI’s core principles.\nEnsure that all HPSI safety procedures, rules and regulations are followed and met. \n2.Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting\nAssist in preparing annual budgets, long-term financial plans, and financial forecasts.\nMaintain financial models and consolidate financial data from relevant departments.\nAnalyze budget variances and prepare financial reports for management review.\n3.Financial & Cost Analysis\nPrepare periodic financial reports and analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability.\nMonitor departmental budgets, including direct, indirect, and SG&A expenses.\nSupport cost variance analysis, CAPEX tracking, and depreciation forecasting.\n4.Project Financial Analysis & Other Support\nAssist in consolidating project EAC updates and analyzing project financial performance.\nCoordinate with relevant departments to collect and validate financial information.\nSupport ad hoc financial analysis and other finance-related tasks as assigned by management.\nCOMPETENCIES\nAble to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, both verbal and written\nAdaptability and organizational skills and understanding\nAble to take directions\nSelf-management, flexibility, and integrity\nConfidentiality \nDetail oriented\nWillingness and ability to work as a team member\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nEDUCATION AND EXPEREIENCE\nRequired\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.\n2-5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, accounting, or cost management.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling and data analysis.\nStrong communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\nPreferred\nExperience in manufacturing, shipbuilding, or project-based industries.\nKnowledge of ERP systems such as SAP.\nUnderstanding of project costing, EAC, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.\nFamiliarity with US GAAP and financial reporting principles.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.Work may be carried on indoors or outdoors and may involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.\n*Hanwha Philly Shipyard is a TOBACCO-FREE facility.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Arange of motion sufficient to perform general lifting, carrying, bending, stooping, climbing, extended walking or standing, etc. is required.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK\nThis is an on-site, full-time, safety-sensitive position.Standard days and hours of work vary by department, days and hours determined by department schedules.\nOTHER DUTIES\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
