Must meet the physical requirements of the role, including respirator/SCBA use and confined space entry.\nMay assist in the company’s Hazardous Waste Management program (training and certification provided).\nPerform other related duties as required or assigned.\nCOMPETENCIES\nPractical knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices in an industrial or construction setting.\nAbility to recognize and resolve hazards and problem situations effectively.\nStrong teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and written.\nSelf-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage assigned tasks with minimal supervision.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).\nSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILTY\nThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. \nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nWork is performed in an active shipyard environment including shipboard, fabrication shops, and outdoor work areas with uneven terrain. Exposure to noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, smoke, and inclement weather is typical of heavy industrial settings. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and mobility to navigate worksites is required.\n*Hanwha Philly Shipyard is a TOBACCO-FREE facility.*\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThe physical demands outlined below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While the role is not directly involved in production, the successful candidate must possess the physical capabilities necessary to work safely in an industrial environment. These include sufficient range of motion for lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, working at heights, entering confined spaces, and extended periods of walking or standing. The position also requires the ability to be medically cleared to wear a respirator or SCBA; in accordance with OSHA regulations, employees must remain clean-shaven where respirator seals contact the face. Employment in this position is contingent upon passing a medical examination. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nPOSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK\nThis is a full-time, on-site, safety-sensitive position. Work schedules are determined by departmental needs and may vary, including rotation between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, as well as weekends and holidays to meet production demands.
