Responsible for assisting all phases of solar and energy storage project development, including the identification, evaluation, realization and M&A of projects. The Senior Manager, Project Development will collaborate with the local team, and assist a leader of project Development. This position reports to the Director, Project Development or another senior management personnel that the CEO of the Company may designate. This position is expected to travel up to 50% of the time. \n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nSenior Manager will assist in the planning and execution of business development opportunities from identification of opportunity through completion;\nAssist in identifying and securing renewable power customers and/or transactions, and managing the pipeline of prospects;\nWorks with Senior Management to identify and develop business opportunities to acquire or develop new power facilities in attractive U.S. and/or international markets;\nInterfaces and coordinates with a highly energetic and results-driven multi-disciplinary team of internal Hanwha resources and external consultants to ensure the viability of identified projects through thorough analysis and appropriate project management;\nParticipates in due diligence of projects, as appropriate;\nServes as liaison between the project development and financial analysis teams to ensure that the deal structure, economic and tax assumptions are properly analyzed;\nSet up a detailed schedule for each task & milestone;\nKeep monitor and manage milestones and prepare routine progress reports\nPrepares presentations to Senior Management as requested;\nDevelops and maintain relationships with U.S. and/or international industry contacts, which includes key business and government customer relationships;\nObtains supporting data including competitive intelligence on market opportunities for new projects;\nClosely follows industry trends and competitor activities, including regulatory/ financial incentives, power pricing and structured financing transactions;\nPrepares project budgets and assists Management in the completion budget reviews;\nUnderstands permitting requirements, negotiate and obtain the necessary development permits (which includes relevant environmental, local, state, and federal permits and waivers) for our solar projects;\nFocus on putting together, negotiating, and obtaining interconnection agreements with utilities that may be in different markets;\nWork with different internal teams to negotiate contract terms (project finance, engineering, project management, procurement and legal);\nAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes; and\nAll other duties as assigned by the Director of Development. \n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in the development of renewable energy, particularly solar PV, power projects in U.S., business development, project development, marketing, or comparable experience.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or similar discipline\nWillingness to travel, up to 50% of the time\nPrevious applicable experience working in a commercial negotiation environment with excellent commercial management, negotiation and influencing skills\nExperience in managing the solar energy development process\nIntimate knowledge of the renewable energy power market and its dynamics; the ability to stay current with changing technologies, regulations, and trends, including building and maintaining strong relationships with off-takers and industry leaders\nImpressive track record closing renewable energy deals\nMust possess an eye for broad strategy and general management and entrepreneurial expertise acquired through leadership positions in the solar and renewable energy industry\nStrong prioritization, communication, and organizational skills; and the ability to quickly work into new tasks and accommodate with new circumstances\nMust have an entrepreneurial attitude and a diplomatic approach\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nCOMPENSATION: $165,000 - $185,000 salary\n\nAttention external recruitment firms, we will not accept any unsolicited resumes at this time.
