At H&H, you’ll join a firm that is building on its legacy by aligning expertise, expanding opportunity, and positioning itself for long-term, sustainable growth.\nRequirements\nPerform field inspections, as a team leader, for condition assessments and reporting of transportation structures and facilities.\nDevelop inspection reports, inspection field sketches in CAD, photo appendices, and inspection finding recommendations.\nOperate inspection equipment, including underbridge inspection vehicles, bucket trucks, access lifts, and other equipment.\nPrepare detailed plans for new and rehabilitation bridge designs.\nPerform engineering design calculations and structural analyses.\nDevelop contract specifications, construction cost estimates, and contract bid documents.\nEvaluate existing structural conditions and develop recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement.\nPerform bridge load ratings and support structural evaluations in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.\nCoordinate structural design and inspection activities with project managers and other engineering disciplines.\nReview technical work, drawings, calculations, specifications, and inspection documentation for accuracy, quality, and completeness.\nProvide technical support during construction, including responding to field questions and reviewing contractor submittals and related documentation.\nAssist with project management activities, including task coordination, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.\nSupport preparation of proposals and development of scopes, schedules, and technical approaches for transportation structure projects.\nCommunicate effectively with clients, project teams, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding technical findings, recommendations, and project requirements.\nMentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and inspection staff.\nRequirements\nB.S. degree in Civil Engineering; Structural Engineering concentration preferred.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required.\nEight to fifteen years of experience in transportation projects for state agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region preferred, including Maryland, Delaware, Washington, DC, and Virginia.\nAbility to develop proposals and schedules and manage tasks independently.\nExperience with FHWA Inventory and Element Level data collection.\nExperience with bridge load ratings.\nPrevious bridge, culvert, ancillary highway structure, and/or tunnel inspection experience.\nExperience with current AASHTO design specifications, design procedures, bridge standards and details, and structural calculations.\nAbility to develop CAD drawings using DOT standards.\nFHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Certification required.\nGood project management, technical writing, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFHWA/NHI Tunnel Inspection Certification.\nOSHA, SPRAT, or equivalent training.\nExperience working with state transportation agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region.\nExperience with bridge rehabilitation and transportation infrastructure design.\nExperience leading field inspection teams and coordinating inspection activities.\nBenefits\nSalary range: $115,000 to $160,000 annually.
