We’d love to hear from you!\nAbout the role\nOur Technology teams play a central role in keeping HL's technology services secure, resilient and available for our clients and colleagues. As part of the Network Engineering team, you will be responsible for the operation, support and continual improvement of our enterprise network.Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will take ownership of network and security incidents, problems, changes and service requests, ensuring issues are investigated thoroughly and resolved within agreed service levels.\nYou will have hands-on responsibility for HPE Aruba Wi-Fi, Zscaler ZIA and ZPA, and Check Point Firewalls, as well as supporting the ongoing patching, upgrades and maintenance of these critical platforms.\nIf you are driven to succeed, enjoy solving complex technical problems and like to be challenged on a daily basis, then please read on!\nWhat you’ll be doing\nTaking ownership of incidents from initial investigation through to resolution, ensuring appropriate communication and documentation throughout.\nInvestigating recurring and complex issues and performing Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as part of the Problem Management process.\nPlanning, raising and implementing network changes through the organisation's formal Change Management process.\nPlanning and delivering regular patching, firmware updates and software upgrades across network infrastructure.\nReviewing vendor security advisories and identifying required patches, upgrades and vulnerability remediation activities.\nSupporting the maintenance and upgrade of HPE Aruba wireless infrastructure, including troubleshooting wireless connectivity, authentication, performance and availability issues.\nSupporting and administering Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), including policy changes, application access, authentication and connectivity troubleshooting.\nSupporting and administering Check Point Firewalls, including firewall policies, rules, NAT, objects, logging and troubleshooting.\nMaintaining accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, configuration records and operational procedures.\nWorking collaboratively with Service Desk, Cyber Security, Systems Operations, Cloud and Application teams to deliver effective end-to-end solutions.\nSupporting continual service improvement initiatives to increase network availability, security and performance.\nEnsuring network and security platforms remain appropriately patched, supported and aligned with security and operational standards.\nAbout you\nProven experience working as a Network Engineer, Network Security Engineer or Infrastructure Engineer.\nStrong hands-on experience supporting HPE Aruba Wi-Fi environments.\nStrong hands-on experience with Zscaler ZIA and ZPA.\nStrong hands-on experience with Check Point Firewalls.\nExperience working within Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.\nPractical experience of network and security patching, firmware updates and upgrades.\nStrong understanding of networking fundamentals\nExcellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues through to root cause.\nExperience using network monitoring, logging and diagnostic tools.\nAbility to work effectively under pressure, particularly during major incidents.\nExcellent interpersonal, organisation and communication skills.\nStrong understanding of security principles and the importance of maintaining secure and resilient network infrastructure.\nRelevant industry certifications in areas such as Aruba and Zscaler, Check Point\nNice to have\nExperience with Cisco Nexus switching.\nExperience with VMware NSX.\nExperience with F5 LTM\nInterview process\n2 stage interview process - initial call | competency based & scenario based questions\nWorking Schedule\nThis role is based in Bristol head office, BS2 0PS. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
