We’d love to hear from you!\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for two Software Engineers to join our Technical Excellence team, supporting Hargreaves Lansdown's AI capability maturity and wider Modernisation of Technology (MoT) objectives.In this role, you will help build, enhance, and support AI-enabled tooling and automation that underpin our engineering platform, enabling teams across the organisation to deliver software more efficiently and effectively.\nWhat you will be doing:\nWrite high quality code adhering to corporate & regulatory standards, delivered in a timely manner, without supervision\n\nWork collaboratively with the team to help deliver new features for the product team in line with requirements\n\nProvide engineering support for existing applications when necessary\n\nMaintain awareness of current secure coding practices and ensure code produced is in line with these\n\nReview other developers’ code to ensure conformance with established standards\n\nDevelop and evidence automated tests alongside code produced\n\nDocumenting all solutions produced to agreed team standards\n\nHabitually comment code to high standards\n\nWillingness to learn and further technologies & techniques embraced by engineering team\n\nCultivate strong working relationships within the wider Digital department\n\nActively participate in schemes designed to support the product team\n\nDevelop both technical and interpersonal skills (weighted towards technical)\n\nAbout you:\nBroad knowledge of one or more development languages\n\nA practical appreciation of database design and working practices\n\nAble to effectively use version control to manage code\n\nAble to effectively use project tracking tools\n\nUnderstanding of professional development methodologies, tools (e.g. source control, automation testing tools, build servers) and wider SDLC\n\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) model principles and application design patterns\n\nAble to demonstrate clear and concise documentation & planning\n\nAbility to work well both independently and in an agile team\n\nAbility to perform under pressure when required\n\nLogical, analytical and methodological approach to problem solving\n\nConsults with others over large or complex decisions\n\nWorking Schedule:\nThis role is based in Number One, Welcome Building, Bristol, BS2 0TR. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
