Work at this level requires extensive progressive experience in project management and involves the utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.\nPrimary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nManage the execution of capital investments through their entire life cycles in areas assigned, including: scope development, risk assessments, budgeting, engineering/design, procurement, construction execution, commissioning, startup, and project closure documentation\nEnsure the safe execution of all projects managed or in assigned areas, while working with appropriate HSE personnel ensuring all government agency requirements are satisfied\nIntegrate plant personnel into the capital project management process to ensure results that meet the needs of the project stakeholders\nWork closely with the business development analysts and site controllers to provide project evaluation and economic analysis on the capital investments for such managed projects. Manage the overall effort leading to an approved Appropriation Request (AR) \nProvide support for the Business Strategic Planning, Annual Operating Plan and Six Sigma Initiatives to develop appropriate capital plans/budgets\nMonitor and control projects to meet the stated AR objectives and commitments \nDemonstrate working knowledge of Project Controls (Estimating, Scheduling, Cost Control, and Earned Value Management)\nMaintain accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasting and management of capital expenditures on a continuous basis\nInterface with key site and company personnel to make maximum use of available resources. Such functions will include, but are not limited to, site engineering resources, purchasing, operations, systems, and business engineering, as well as equipment vendors, and contracting firms \nParticipate in Site Leadership Team meetings as the representative for Capital Project Engineering as needed\nEnsure necessary site eMOC, MST items and PSSR requirements are processed on projects assigned and as required\nOversee appropriate maintenance and records of all drawings, specifications, programs, and other documentation for such managed projects, manage proper turnover to plant resources during closure\nAdvocate for strong safety awareness program with consistent implementation of policies and procedures and participate in construction safety audits and contractor safety meetings\nMentor less experienced Project Managers and Engineers\nOversee project teams of Solstice or Contract employees\nDeliver projects on time, in accordance with the scopes of the projects and within targeted costs\nUse SAP, EcoSys, and project management tools to cost-estimate, plan and execute projects\nUse and obtain approvals for Change Orders to reflect changes to the project plans• Identify all internal/external resources for successful project execution, and ensure the necessary resources are assigned to the project appropriately by their respective managers\nCoordinate all project activities between internal process design team, design houses, and contractors\nEnsure customer satisfaction requirements and final process design package standards are met\nRegularly report project progress to managers and project stakeholders. Identify any problems with cost over-runs or schedule delays\nMaintain effective communication among internal process design team and contractors during the term of the projects\nPrepare bid packages and requests for quotes for materials, equipment, and services\nPrepare SOW packages for design activities/engineering, construction, equipment bidding, startup activities etc.\nAchieve World Class safety performance on all assigned capital project\nTimely and effectively communicate within all levels of the organization\nDemonstrate the ability to form and lead teams in the resolution of problems and the application of sustained solutions\nDemonstrate excellent people and project management skills\nCustomer Focus - Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers\nBelow is the range that we in good faith believe is the potential compensation for this role at the time of this posting and is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Illinois. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Hargrove’s total compensation package for Teammates. Actual compensation will be based on education, experience, skill set and location.\nMinimum Salary: $100,000 annually\nMaximum Salary: $150,000 annually\nIdeal Background\nEducation: Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.\nCertification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.\nExperience: This position requires 4+ years of relevant experience of increasingly related responsibilities in capital project management and execution processes\nManufacturing experience in chemical plants preferred\nStrong working knowledge of plant operations, maintenance and processes preferred\nExperience in the management of financial budgets, projects, troubleshooting, team building, and overall leadership\nExperience working with contract engineering firms\nSix Sigma Greenbelt (or Blackbelt) certification or equivalent experience implementing productivity / continuous improvement projects\nPrior experience with SAP is preferred \nFormal training and certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)\nKnowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.\nKnowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.\nDemonstrated proficiency in complex project management.\nAbility to lead a team to deliver on commitments.\nA comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.\nAbility to manage client relationships in complex situations.\nAbility to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.\nAbility to handle stress with poise.\nUnderstanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.\nAbility to delegate authority appropriately.\nAbility to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability.\nAbility to set priorities.\nDemonstrated leadership ability with team orientation.\nCoaching and mentoring skills and experience.\nExcellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.\nExcellent presentation skills.\nExcellent leadership and organizational skills.\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.\nHargrove Culture\nWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
