This role will interact regularly with maintenance staff, craftsmen, operation UTL s, and management. Requires a good understanding of and experience with accepted industry practices for planning work, materials, services, technical information, and a good understanding of safe work practices in a chemical plant.\nPrimary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nFollow the Hexion standard maintenance work flow process\nInteract with operation UTL s in the screening of work notifications to ensure that the scope of work, equipment involved, priority, and expected completion date is understood and realistic\nWalk job area to clarify scope of work and expectations; take field measurements as needed, and document field information for job plan\nExpertise in planning out job steps and resources which include labor, materials, services, special tools, work instructions, technical information, drawings, safe work permitting, etc.\nWrite work instructions where standard work instructions do not exist; collaborate with discipline specialists and engineers as needed for work instructions\nUnderstand basics of all typical maintenance crafts, and know who to contact as specialized resources for planning details\nCommunicate with venders to clarify job scope and obtain quotes for materials and services\nCoordinate regular updates with internal customers to facilitate communication on job planning progress and obstacles\nResponsible for preventive maintenance planning in collaboration with discipline specialists and engineers; update task lists as needed to maintain accurate PM job plans; update equipment BOM s as needed to maintain accurate parts lists for planning\nAssemble and issue job packages; drive continuous improvement in the completeness of the job package as a communication and quality management tool for the maintenance work process\nMonitor and maintain planning backlog within targeted control limits\nMonitor planning accuracy versus target, and drive continuous improvement\nRequires significant use of SAP in work planning, issuing material/service requisitions, warehouse parts reservations, and tracking parts delivery\nOther duties as assigned.\nIdeal Background\nEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.\nCertification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.\nExperience: Requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in planning, scheduling, cost control and estimating.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:\nExperience as job planner or estimator\nExperience in a chemical plant or in heavy industry\nExperience in planning in SAP\nAbility to use Microsoft Office suite\nAbility to perform internet searches for job materials or services\nAble to read and interpret vender manuals and drawings\nAble to communicate clearly and effectively to craftsmen/operators, venders/suppliers, other departmental staff, and management\nAble to organize and plan jobs, and develop job cost estimates\nAbility to learn and apply maintenance best practices\nHighly motivated, energetic, and self-directed\nAble to work effectively in a matrix team environment\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.\nHargrove Culture\nWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
