Work at this level requires progressive experience in construction management and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.\nPrimary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:\nFamiliarity with and utilizing department standards.\n\nFamiliarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task.\n\nExtensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor’s activities are planned and executed with safety first.\n\nResponsible for the safe performance of all contractors on the assigned project.\n\nConsulting with design leaders, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality of technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes.\n\nPromoting continued relationships with clients.\n\nParticipating in field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.\n\nRecognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.\n\nProviding on-site assistance during startup.\n\nCoordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.\n\nConsulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.\n\nAdvising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.\n\nReviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input.\n\nReviewing construction specifications.\n\nReviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.\n\nCoordinating contractor activities to avoid lost time due to problem resolutions or lack of direction.\n\nMonitoring contractor resource assignments to ensure that the correct numbers of resources are assigned to the work.\n\nThis position offers a highly competitive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance benefits, and matching retirement contributions.\nIdeal Background\nEducation: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.\nLicensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred.\nExperience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nAbility to lead a small team to deliver on commitments.\n\nKnowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.\n\nKnowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.\n\nKnowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.\n\nDemonstrated proficiency in complex project management.\n\nAbility to lead a team to deliver on commitments.\n\nA comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.\n\nAbility to manage client relationships in complex situations.\n\nAbility to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.\n\nAbility to handle stress with poise.\n\nUnderstanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.\n\nAbility to delegate authority appropriately.\n\nAbility to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability.\n\nAbility to set priorities.\n\nDemonstrated leadership ability with team orientation.\n\nCoaching and mentoring skills and experience.\n\nExcellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.\n\nExcellent presentation skills.\n\nExcellent leadership and organizational skills.\n\nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.\n\nAbility to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.\n\nAbility to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.\n\nHargrove Culture\nWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
