This position is accountable for meeting safety, environmental, and any other active policy/law applicable to the site as well as expectations with respect to the job dimensions.\nPrimary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:\nCoordinates capital project documentation.\nInfrastructure, equipment and project files.\n\nEngineering department procedures and site process safety information (P&ID’s, interlocks sheets, PFD’s, etc.).\n\nCoordinates capital Projects within the Axis, Alabama site.\nInsure that capital projects are developed and implemented according to established corporate procedures.\n\nNegotiate with internal customers to define their needs, and provide written scope documents as needed in support of capital project or maintenance support activities.\n\nManage project team activities handled through in-house engineering resources.\n\nOperates as a technical advisor on the project team.\n\nEnsure accuracy of plans, quantities, and calculations.\n\nPrepare estimates to support site Capital Project team. (conceptual - definitive)\n\nPrepare Request for Quotations documents and works with site Procurement to bid capital work.\n\nProcures capital project materials and services.\n\nAssimilate bill of material for job-specific tasks, build a request for quote (RFQ), and work with the purchasing group to obtain best and final pricing.\n\nInsures that all capital project forecasts are updated monthly in SAP, and is responsible for running monthly financial reports.\n\nMaintains close communication to the Technical & Engineering Manager on project activities; and participates with the site management team in the capital-spending budget and decision-making process.\n\nInterfaces with Corporate Engineering on incorporating new policies and/or procedures to the site as well as Value Improvement Practices (i.e. new estimating tools, software applications, etc.)\n\nLeads capital projects following the established project development procedures and process (ASAP) as necessary.\n\nResponsible for approving contractor timesheets and works with plant accountant to re-class billed hours to correct cost center or project WBS.\n\nComply with the HSEQ Policy.\n\nComply with Regulations, Legal and Internal Requirements as made known by the site and by the business unit (BU).\n\nComply with the rules of the specific location to which one is assigned as well as the rules set by the business unit (BU) and site.\n\nFollow HES and Operating Discipline procedures and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.\n\nAs required, initiates and participates in Root Cause Investigations.\n\nUnderstands and executes Emergency Response procedures to mitigate unplanned events in the process.\n\nComply with all standard procedures and work instructions, aka SP, SOP, PWI, TM, to ensure productivity, quality assurance and cost effectiveness.\n\nReview their work areas for potential losses and Report hazards to the direct supervisor.\n\nReport Near Misses to the direct supervisor.\n\nReport Incidents or Accidents to the direct supervisor.\n\nIdentify and communicate potential gains or possible improvements to the management system.\n\nIdeal Background\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in engineering or any related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in chemical plants. Mechanical engineering degree preferred.\nCertification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.\nExperience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nKnowledge/ experience with mechanical and structural design codes.\n\nOccupational and process safety knowledge.\n\nProven working experience as a project engineer.\n\nSuperb knowledge of design and visualizations software (for example,AutoCAD)\n\nMicrosoft Office competence.\n\nFamiliar with OSHA regulations for design and project execution.\n\nFamiliar with project estimating- Ridgeline or Aspen in Plant Estimator software\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.\n\nHargrove Culture\nWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
