You will be responsible for the software design, development, test, and delivery of consumer electronics products. In this role you will be able to apply your experience using and working with embedded processors, embedded Linux, real time operating systems, build systems, programming languages, network architectures, and software development tools.\nWhat You Will Do\nDesign and develop efficient, bug free software.\nFollow a disciplined Agile/Scrum software development process in task estimation, design, development, code reviews, unit/integration testing and defect fixing of products.\nWork with subject matter experts to produce requirements and develop solutions.\nAssist in the creation of technical design documents for the products.\nParticipate in application design sessions and code reviews to ensure accuracy towards product requirements.\nAnalyze existing software to debug and troubleshoot reported issues.\nWork with other engineers to promote the reuse of code and designs in current projects.\nIdentify and recommend software development process improvement initiatives.\nAssist in the technical analysis of potential tools and commercial products.\nWhat You Need to Be Successful\nBS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics or equivalent technical degree.\n5+ years of software engineering experience with embedded systems.\n3+ years experience with SVN, GIT or equivalent software version control.\n3+ years using the C programming language.\n3+ years using the C++11 or later programming language.\n3+ years working in a Linux software development environment.\n2+ years using scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python or similar).\n2+ years experience with Buildroot or Yocto or equivalent.\n2+ years experience with embedded real-time operating systems.\nExperience with embedded development tools.\nExperience with all phases of the software development lifecycle.\nExcellent communication and effective writing skills are essential.\nStrong problem solving skills in a fast paced environment.\nBonus Points if You Have\nExperience with consumer electronics development.\nExperience with audio development.\nExperience with multi-core firmware design and inter-processor communications.\nExperience with Linux kernel development.\nProficient with standard software development defect tracking systems (such as Bugzilla, Jira or similar).\nUnderstanding of peripheral interfaces including: I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet, HDMI, etc.\nHands on experience in using development tools (IDEs, Emulators, analyzers, oscilloscopes) and debugging of real time issues.\nWhat Makes You Eligible\nYou are fluent in English.\nYou are willing to travel, if necessary.\nYou are eligible to work in the USA.\nSuccessfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment (post-offer).\nWhat We Offer\nAccess to employee discounts on world-class products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, and more)\nExtensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University\nCompetitive wellness benefits\nTuition reimbursement\n“Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program\nAn inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development\nSalary Ranges:\n$ 97,500 - $ 143,000HARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
