The role needs to effectively drive internal project team and external suppliers for new technology implementations and continuous acoustic package upgrading to ensure the delivery of industry-leading sound performance.\nWhat You Will Do\nResponsible for the acoustic design and development of Consumer Audio Speakers, including the validation of sound concept, optimization of design parameters, algorithms tuning, sound tuning, sound performance evaluation with both objective measurement and subjective listening test, etc.\nSupport the sound requirement definition for Consumer Audio Speakers and interact with related functions.\nSupport sound quality control in collaboration with Quality and other functional teams, including sound quality definition, sample evaluation, sound verification, etc.\nReview product designs with project team and suppliers to ensure the understanding of all sound requirements.\nWork with project team and suppliers for the product development from sound concept to mass production.\nMonitor acoustics testing of new products and components at suppliers.\nResponsible for conveying, communicating, and preserving original product definition, design integrity, performance and cost expectations, and scheduling requirements of assigned projects.\nPerform acoustic and electrical tests on audio products using proper test systems.\nPerform subjective listening test and evaluate sound quality of audio product.\nStation at key supplier's design and manufacturing facilities, as an on-site \"advocate\" and \"extension\" of the development.\nAssist line manager to improve sound development process, conduct ongoing research, and drive innovation to ensure the delivery of best sound quality products.\nCreate and maintain acoustic design documentation and reporting for various stakeholders.\nWhat You Need to Be Successful\nBachelor or above degree of acoustics or related major.\n8+ years’ acoustics background experience.\nSolid knowledge in acoustic theory, acoustic test, and acoustic simulation.\nFamiliar with speaker acoustic design, sound tuning and subjective evaluation.\nProficient in using Soundcheck, Klippel, and Audio Precision test system, etc.\nFamiliar with production line level manufacture, assembly, and test system.\nExperience in working with vendors and contract manufacturers.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nCan-do attitude and self-motivation.\nProficient in both spoken and written English.\nBonus Points if You Have\nGolden Ears certification.\nKnowledge in acoustic related algorithms and digital signal processing.\nExperience in algorithm development.\nExperience in working with overseas companies in Europe and US.\nMusic related expertise.\nWhat Makes You Eligible\nBe willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel.\nBe willing to work in an office in Shenzhen.\nAny offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.\nWhat We Offer\nFlexible work environment, allowing for full-time remote work one day per week for positions that can be performed outside a HARMAN or customer location.\nAccess to employee discounts on world-class Harman products (JBL, HARMAN Kardon, AKG, etc.)\nExtensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University\nCompetitive wellness benefits\nAccess to HARMAN Campus Fitness Center and Cafeteria\n“Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program\nAn inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development\nHARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
