What You’ll Be Part Of:

As an acoustic engineer, you will develop new products, characterization and validation of professional audio products with strong focus on microphones, microphone capsules and related acoustic systems. You will define measurement methods, acoustic specifications and validation plans, evaluate prototypes and alternative components, perform acoustic root-cause investigations, and support new product development as well as sustaining engineering activities.

Reporting the development status to your manager is your responsibility. Usually work on more projects based on the priority list.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

• Develops and characterizes cost-effective designs microphone, microphone capsule products and components.
• Define and execute acoustic measurement and validation plans.
• Perform and evaluate acoustic measurement for R&D and for sustaining projects too.
• Define measurement methods, test conditions, fixtures, test setup. Support the manufacturing and maintenance team.
• Establish and maintain golden sample references, measurement limits and acceptance criteria for acoustic validation and production testing.
• Evaluate microphone capsules and alternative acoustic components and determine their suitability for existing or new products.
• Support production and suppliers with acoustic investigations, validation activities and troubleshooting.
• Contribute acoustic expertise to new product development, cost reduction, EOL/component replacement and product improvement projects.
• Manage multiple engineering activities and projects according to business priorities.
• Works and participates in a product team environment, supporting other team functions: software, mechanical, process, test, and quality engineering and works with vendors to guide the manufacture of devices to fulfil the specified requirements, to reduce cost, enhance performance, or all of them.
• Plan and execute tasks defined by the new product development and implementation project plans.

What Makes You A Strong Fit:

• BSc or MSc degree in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, Physics or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience in acoustic engineering product development.
• Strong understanding of electroacoustic principles, microphone and transducer behaviour and acoustic measurement technique.
• Intermediate English (written and verbal).

Bonus Points if You Have:

• Experience with professional microphones, microphone capsules or other professional audio products.
• Knowledge of Mentor Graphics or similar electronic hardware development environment.
• Knowledge of analogue audio electronics and the interaction between acoustic, mechanical and electrical design.
• Hands-On experience with PCBA hand soldering, assembly and modification of physical PCBA’s.
• Knowledgeable in the use of Audio Precision.
• Ability to play a musical instrument or sing.

• Valid B category driving license.
