This role sits at the core of execution, driving value creation through hands-on engagement in VM workshops and continuous development of the ideation pipeline.\nYou will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and mature cost optimization opportunities across IVI/CDC programs. By applying value engineering principles at the product and component level, you will play a key role in translating ideas into actionable solutions that deliver measurable cost, quality, and performance improvements. This position offers a unique opportunity to directly influence product competitiveness while building strong technical and business acumen.\nYour Team\nOperates within a cross-functional organizational model with no direct reports. Success in the role relies on strong collaboration and influence across diverse teams and disciplines.\nHow You’ll Make An Impact\nLead and facilitate cross-functional VM (VAVE) workshops for RFQs and awarded programs, driving structured ideation and actionable outcomes\n\nOwn and manage the VM ideation pipeline, ensuring continuous flow, prioritization, and tracking of value ideas from creation to implementation\n\nAnalyze system architecture, HW blocks, and mechanical concepts to identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining product performance and quality\n\nCollaborate closely with hardware and mechanical engineering, system architecture, procurement, and program teams to validate feasibility and drive implementation of ideas\n\nPerform technical investigations and design change verifications of analog and digital hardware functional blocks during technical feasibility analysis stages\n\nSupport RFQ/RFX activities by contributing cost-saving ideas and strengthening BOM competitiveness through targeted value engineering inputs\n\nDrive data-driven decision making by maintaining accurate tracking of savings, pipeline maturity, and implementation status across programs\n\nPromote reuse of proven ideas and HW blocks across projects to accelerate cost optimization and improve time to market\n\nActively contributes to continuous improvement of VM processes, workshop methodologies, and tools to enhance overall effectiveness and efficiency\n\nWhat Makes You A Strong Fit\nBachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering; an advanced degree is a plus.\n\nMinimum of 5 years of experience in hardware design or component engineering, Value Management or related disciplines such as VAVE, cost engineering (electronic systems), within the automotive or technology sectors.\n\nUnderstanding of automotive electronics requirements and technologies and the end-to-end value chain.\n\nBasic knowledge of CAD tools for schematic/PCB layout realization and electrical circuits simulation (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Spice).\n\nExperience in using laboratory tools and hardware bench testing.\n\nProven ability to lead technical presentations and facilitate workshops with both internal teams and external partners.\n\nStrong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis, KPI tracking, and relevant software tools.\n\nAbility to clearly explain complex technical issues and justify technical decisions.\n\nFluent in English with strong communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.\n\nBonus Points if You Have\nBasic experience with worst-case calculations tools (e.g., Mathcad).\n\nBasic knowledge of commonly used interfaces in infotainment systems (e.g., I2C, CAN, LIN, PCIe, UART, USB, etc).\n\nAutomotive Tier1 RFQ experience.\n\nExperience with Automotive Infotainment/Intelligent-Cockpit products and projects.\n\nProject management and organizational capabilities, with a track record of managing multiple priorities effectively.\n\nWhat You Can Expect\nA hybrid work environment that balances flexibility with in-person collaboration, with most office-based roles onsite three days a week.\n\nAccess to employee discounts on HARMAN and Samsung products (including JBL, Harman / Kardon, AKG, and others)\n\nLearning and development opportunities through our award-winning HARMAN University programs\n\nWellness benefits designed to support your overall well-being\n\nAn inclusive and diverse work environment that supports both your professional and personal development\n\nHARMAN is proud to be an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
