Following the close of a $200M Series B, valuing the company at $1.4 billion, we are expanding our teams and capabilities to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces.\nOur work is guided by clear values: building technologies with real-world impact, pursuing excellence in everything we do, setting ambitious goals, and taking on the hardest technical challenges. We operate in a demanding environment where rigor, ownership, and execution are expected.\nAbout the Role\nThe Logistics Officer owns the daily inbound and outbound logistics function across Harmattan AI’s two French sites - the Wissous production facility and the Paris engineering office. Reporting to the Logistics & Warehouse Lead, the role operates with significant autonomy: independently managing freight flows, customs compliance, dangerous goods, and international trade requirements without requiring hand-holding on routine decisions.\nThis is not a pure execution role. The Logistics Officer brings senior operational experience and the judgement to run the function independently day-to-day - escalating where needed, but owning the full logistics picture between escalations. The right candidate has seen enough complexity - military goods, DG shipments, ITAR - to handle it confidently and knows when something requires attention from the Lead.\nResponsibilities\nInbound Logistics\nOwn inbound freight flows for both sites - booking, tracking, customs clearance, and goods receipt for components, materials, and equipment\n\nProactively manage supplier and forwarder relationships to resolve delays and protect the Wissous production schedule\n\nProcess import documentation, verify HS/CN classification, and coordinate with customs brokers to ensure clean clearance\n\nEscalate supply disruptions and compliance flags to the Logistics & Warehouse Lead with structured context and a proposed resolution\n\nOutbound Logistics\nManage outbound shipments to customers, integrators, programme offices, demonstrations, and trade events - from booking through to proof of delivery\n\nPrepare complete export documentation - commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, export declarations, and end-user certificates\n\nManage temporary export regimes and ATA carnets for demonstration and event shipments, including tracking and timely return\n\nIndependently assess ITAR, EAR, and EU/French dual-use export control requirements for each outbound shipment - applying the correct treatment and flagging licence requirements before despatch\n\nDangerous Goods\nIndependently classify, prepare, and document dangerous goods shipments under ADR, IATA DGR, and IMDG - lithium batteries (UN 3480/3481), propellants, and other regulated materials\n\nEnsure packaging, labelling, marking, and documentation are correct on every DG movement without requiring supervision\n\nMonitor freight partner compliance with DG handling standards and raise issues to the Logistics & Warehouse Lead\n\nCustoms & Trade Compliance\nApply confident working knowledge of HS/CN tariff codes, incoterms, and customs regimes to ensure accurate and complete declarations\n\nMaintain full compliance records - export licences, end-user certificates, DG records, and customs documentation - to audit standard\n\nStay current on changes to ITAR, EAR, EU dual-use regulations, and customs procedures relevant to Harmattan AI’s trade lanes\n\nSite Coordination & Continuous Improvement\nCoordinate goods flows between Wissous and Paris, ensuring accurate stock transfers, documentation, and storage standards for military hardware and dangerous goods\n\nIdentify process gaps, recurring issues, or compliance risks in the logistics function and bring structured improvement proposals to the Logistics & Warehouse Lead\n\nWork closely with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to align logistics priorities with operational needs\n\nCandidate Requirements\nEssential\n5+ years of experience in freight, logistics, or supply chain in a regulated industry - defence, aerospace, advanced electronics, or similar\n\nAble to operate the inbound/outbound logistics function independently - making sound daily decisions on customs, DG, and compliance without close supervision\n\nSolid hands-on knowledge of customs documentation: HS/CN classification, import/export declarations, incoterms, and freight procedures across Europe, the US, and the Middle East\n\nDirect working experience with ITAR, EAR, and EU/French dual-use export control regulations applied to physical shipments\n\nCertified and experienced in dangerous goods - IATA DGR, ADR, or equivalent - with specific experience on lithium batteries and military-relevant materials\n\nFamiliarity with military goods logistics: packaging, marking, documentation, and transport standards for defence hardware\n\nDetail-oriented, compliance-driven, and calm under time pressure\n\nFluent French and English, written and spoken\n\nPreferred\nExperience with temporary export regimes, ATA carnets, and trade event logistics\n\nFamiliarity with ERP or WMS systems (Odoo or equivalent)\n\nExperience coordinating logistics across multiple sites\n\nWe look forward to hearing how you can help shape the future of autonomous defense systems at Harmattan AI.","description_format":"text","description_chars":5313,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":true,"languages":[{"language":"French","level":"Advanced (C1)","optional":false},{"language":"English","level":"Advanced (C1)","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Logistics","Freight Forwarding","Military","Military Drones"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-05T11:32:51Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":49,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":0.6,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":33,"expected_fill_days":69,"reasons":["seen:33","velocity","win:mid","comp:brand"],"computed_at":"2026-11-08T05:47:12Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/harmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/harmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-08T22:23:12Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":46780,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-09T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.1,"usd":0.01,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":8839},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=8839"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fharmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":2,"usd":0.2},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fharmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.1,"usd":0.01},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fharmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/harmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fharmattan-ai-logistics-coordinator"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":1902085}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"harmattan.ai","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":1902085},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
