The platform provides a Kubernetes environment for running edge applications that include Harmonic’s virtualized DOCSIS and PON solutions. This position reports to the Senior Director of System Integration.\nLocation\nHybrid - based in San Jose, CA, with occasional on-site work required.\nWhat you will be doing:\nDesign, develop, and maintain cloud-native software for Harmonic’s clustered computing platform to support virtualized DOCSIS and PON solutions\n\nIntegrate open-source technologies into Harmonic’s clustered computing platform\n\nDevelop well-tested software components using C++ and Python\n\nDesign and implement enhancements for existing software components\n\nDesign and implement microservices and RESTful APIs that scale horizontally across multiple compute nodes\n\nPerform root cause analysis of issues in production environments and provide solutions\n\nTroubleshoot applications end-to-end across networks and microservices\n\nAdhere to best practices and standards in the areas of technology and security\n\nStay current with advancements in technology and evaluate how new technologies can be leveraged to improve business solutions\n\nWhat you should have:\nProficiency in C++ and Python.\n\nUnderstanding of computer networking technologies.\n\nUnderstanding of computer architecture\n\nExperience working with LLMs and writing agentic workflows\n\nExperience with design and implementation of microservices and RESTful APIs that scale horizontally across multiple compute nodes.\n\nTroubleshooting applications end-to-end across networks and microservices.\n\nExpertise delivering high-quality code with extensive unit tests.\n\nPay & Benefits -\nThis is a part-time position of 20 hours per week. The estimated hourly range is $30-$35.
