Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a key role in turning enquiries into winning proposals - building your commercial and technical knowledge as you go.\nThis is an excellent development opportunity for someone with a background in passive fire, building fabric, or a related discipline who wants to grow into a commercial pre-construction career in a fast-moving, high-quality business.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the Pre-Construction Manager in the preparation of tenders, quotations, and pricing submissions for passive fire protection works across the Scottish portfolio. \nCarry out take-offs and material quantification from drawings, specifications, and survey information, ensuring accuracy at every stage. \nAssist in the preparation of method statements, programmes, and supporting documentation for tender submissions. \nLiaise with supply chain, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing and technical information required to complete bids. \nMaintain and update the pre-construction tracker, ensuring all live enquiries, deadlines, and submission statuses are accurately recorded. \nSupport site surveys and pre-construction visits, developing your understanding of scope and specification requirements on the ground. \nAssist with the handover of won projects to the delivery team, ensuring all pre construction information is transferred accurately. \nDevelop your knowledge of passive fire protection systems, industry standards, and compliance requirements. \nContribute to the continuous improvement of the pre-construction process, including templates, pricing tools, and submission quality. \nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nAn A-player mindset - high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time. \nExperience in a pre-construction, estimating, or commercial support role within passive fire protection, building fabric, or a closely related discipline. \nAbility to carry out accurate take-offs and quantification from drawings and specifications. \nStrong numerical and analytical skills - comfortable working with pricing data, cost summaries, and tender documents. \nHighly organised with strong attention to detail - able to manage multiple live bids simultaneously and meet submission deadlines. \nGood communication skills - able to liaise professionally with clients, supply chain, and internal colleagues. \nProficient in Microsoft 365 - particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word. \nEdinburgh-based and available full time. \nFull UK driving licence. \nJob Benefits\nThis is a chance to build a commercial pre-construction career at one of the UK’s fastest growing fire safety specialists - working on a growing Scottish pipeline, supported by an experienced Pre-Construction Manager, and developing the skills that will take you further.
