This role will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into secure, reliable, and high-performing reporting and analytics solutions.\nThis position requires full-time onsite work from HarmonyTech's office in Fairfax, Virginia. Remote work is not available.\nCandidates must be U.S. citizens and may not hold dual citizenship with another country. The selected candidate must also meet applicable federal personnel security and onboarding requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, enhance, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, metrics, visualizations, and data models.\nDevelop and optimize SQL queries, DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query transformations.\nGather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical, reporting, and analytics solutions.\nDesign and optimize data models, relationships, and complex data transformations.\nIntegrate Power BI solutions with databases, files, applications, and other enterprise data sources.\nValidate data accuracy and troubleshoot ETL pipelines, transformations, data connectors, data-quality issues, and performance problems.\nPublish and maintain reports through Power BI Service, including workspace management and scheduled data refreshes.\nOptimize reports, dashboards, queries, and data models for performance and maintainability.\nImplement appropriate data security and access controls, including row-level security (RLS).\nCollaborate with product owners, subject-matter experts, data teams, developers, and other business and technical stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.\nParticipate in solution design, development, testing, implementation, and production support.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, data models, scripts, workflows, and user guidance.\nDevelop reporting solutions consistent with applicable Section 508 accessibility requirements.\nFollow established development, security, source-control, documentation, and solution-management standards.\nRequired Skills & Qualifications7+ years of overall IT, data, analytics, application development, or business intelligence experience.\n3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Power BI development experience.\nStrong hands-on experience with Power BI, SQL, DAX, and Power Query.\nExperience developing interactive dashboards, reports, visualizations, metrics, and data models.\nStrong understanding of relational databases, data modeling, data relationships, and business intelligence concepts.\nExperience with ETL, data transformation, data preparation, pipelines, and connectors.\nExperience integrating Power BI with multiple databases and enterprise data sources.\nExperience with Power BI Service, performance optimization, scheduled refreshes, troubleshooting, and data validation.\nKnowledge of data security, access controls, and row-level security (RLS).\nAbility to translate business requirements into effective technical and analytics solutions.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data quality and accuracy.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.\nMust be a U.S. citizen and must not hold dual citizenship with another country.\nPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting federal government, financial services, or other regulated environments.\nExperience with Microsoft Power Automate and SharePoint Online.\nFamiliarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud-based data and analytics solutions.\nExperience with Python for data analysis, transformation, automation, or scripting.\nFamiliarity with GitHub, JIRA, ServiceNow, or DBeaver.\nExperience with source control and established software development lifecycle practices.\nKnowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirements.\nFamiliarity with federal information security, privacy, data governance, or compliance requirements.\nExperience supporting enterprise-scale business intelligence, reporting, data analytics, or automation solutions.\nEducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field preferred.\nAbout HarmonyTech\nWe have been delivering information technology services and solutions across the federal government and commercial clients for over a decade.
