(Remote) Trainer, Professional Services

Advanced Utility Systems, a division of Harris; is seeking a Trainer who is fully bilingual in English and French and will support enterprise software implementations and upgrades for utility customers across North America.

This blended role combines training needs analysis, instructional design, LMS-based learning, software testing, and customer readiness (training facilitation and testing support). The successful candidate will help ensure that customers understand their configured solution, are prepared to adopt new processes, and have completed the training and testing activities required for a successful go-live.

As AI becomes increasingly integrated into how we work, the specialist will use approved AI technologies responsibly to improve learning design, content development, test preparation, analysis, documentation, and delivery efficiency. Accountability for the accuracy, security, and quality of all work remains with the employee.

This remote role welcomes candidates anywhere in Canada. Travel is required as needed, approximately 50%. Candidates must hold a current, valid passport and be legally eligible to travel internationally. This includes either passport based visa exemption or possession of any required travel visas for entry into Canada, the United States, and the Caribbean.

What your impact will be:

• Conduct training needs analyses and translate findings into role-based learning objectives, curricula, training matrices, and delivery plans.
• Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, blended, and eLearning programs in English and French.
• Create and maintain LMS courses, learning paths, assignments, assessments, completion tracking, and reporting.
• Develop facilitator guides, participant materials, exercises, job aids, and user documentation.
• Deliver engaging remote and onsite training to utility customers and internal teams.
• Develop and execute test plans, scenarios, test cases, expected results, and supporting evidence.
• Support functionality, workflow, regression, conversion-validation, and user acceptance testing.
• Document test results, defects, retesting outcomes, training gaps, and readiness concerns.
• Use approved AI technologies to improve training, testing, analysis, documentation, and reusable delivery of assets.
• Validate AI-assisted work for accuracy, confidentiality, appropriate terminology, and alignment with customer requirements.
• Support customers through testing, go-live, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Collaborate with Project Management, Consulting, Technical Services, Conversion, Reporting, Development, and Support teams.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, time records, site logs, and status updates.
• Identify opportunities to improve implementation enablement methods, tools, templates, and processes.

What we are looking for:

• Full professional fluency in English and French, written and verbal.
• Three or more years of relevant experience in instructional design, software training, software testing, business analysis, application consulting, or enterprise software implementation.
• Utilities industry experience, including knowledge of utility operations, customer service, billing, or related business processes.
• Demonstrated experience conducting training needs analyses and developing role-based learning programs.
• Hands-on experience designing, publishing, maintaining, and reporting on training through a Learning Management System.
• Experience developing instructor-led, virtual, blended, or eLearning content.
• Experience developing or executing test plans, scenarios, test cases, and user acceptance testing.
• Demonstrated ability to use modern AI technologies responsibly to improve training, testing, analysis, or documentation.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, Smartsheet, and LMS platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple customer and project priorities in a fast-paced Professional Services environment.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% across North America.
• Valid passport, and ability to travel across North America.

What would make you stand out:

• Post-secondary education in adult education, instructional design, learning and development, business analysis, information technology, quality assurance, or related field.
• Experience with utility billing, Customer Information Systems, ERP, SaaS, financial, or other enterprise applications.
• Experience administering an enterprise LMS or using eLearning authoring tools.
• Knowledge of adult-learning principles, requirements of traceability, regression testing, defect management, and training-effectiveness measurement.
• Experience developing AI-enabled learning, automated testing, reusable content, or process improvements.
• You can confidently facilitate training and testing (in both English and French), understand utility business processes, translate complex software functionality into practical learning experiences, and distinguish between training, process, configuration, data, and software issues.
• You are collaborative, accountable, detail-oriented, and committed to helping customers become ready, confident, and self-sufficient throughout implementation and beyond.
