For more than 50 years, Hart Research has conducted public opinion research—at the national, state, and community levels—for candidates for public office, advocacy organizations, trade associations, foundations, and corporations.

HART RESEARCH, one of the nation's leading public opinion research firms specializing in polling for Democratic candidates and causes, is seeking a Field Operations Manager to schedule the field work and manage the survey operations with our outside vendors and our internal research team. If you have experience in the world of survey research, political polling, field organizing, call-center operations, or vendor management, we encourage you to apply.

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Field Operations Manager will play a vital role in supporting the successful execution of survey research projects. This role offers the opportunity to step into a seasoned research operation and make an immediate impact on projects that inform campaigns, advocacy efforts, and public policy discussions nationwide. You will manage project fielding and scheduling, coordinate with internal teams and external vendors, monitor deadlines and quality control processes. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives on planning and execution, takes pride in keeping complex projects on track, and remains focused on achieving shared team goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the liaison between our research team and outside vendors to ensure projects are executed according to specifications and completed on time and on budget.
  • Cultivate and manage vendor relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for project fielding and operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain field schedules for quantitative and qualitative research projects.
  • Monitor project progress, communicate status updates, and proactively resolve operational challenges.
  • Oversee quality control processes to ensure research activities meet company standards and client expectations.
  • Manage information flow among internal teams and external partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain project documentation and operational records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and project execution.

All positions at Hart Research Associates may be asked to provide support and assistance outside of their core job function. Executing additional duties as requested is a core requirement of every job. Evening and weekend hours may be required.

  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship management skills
  • Professional, friendly demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to initiate and follow through on work independently
  • Ability to work with quick turn-around times
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

Additional qualifications that will set you apart from other candidates:

  • Previous work experience with a polling or research firm or in call center operations
  • Demonstrated interest in Democratic politics
  • Bachelors degree a plus, but not required
