Core 99 Teaching Assistants are an integral part of the Core 99 instructional team, which includes several instructors from various departments.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nKeeping up with course readings, assisting with running course recitation section meetings, grading student assignments\nAttending weekly Core 99 instructional team meetings\nOther duties as assigned\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and Experience:\nSome expertise in a field related to climate change and/or transdisciplinary studies, such as STS (science, technology, and society), psychology, political science, economics, GIS, or art\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nSoftware tools such as Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and Gradescope\nUse rubrics to grade assignments and exams and provide feedback to students\nLead student discussions in recitations sections\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience with the climate change literature in any field; experience with science, technology, and society\nPrior experience with writing instruction\nOther\nRequired to possess and maintain a valid California Driver License and a DMV record that meets the requirements set by the College’s insurance carrier. \nAbility to maintain confidentiality and privacy of student records.\nRemote Work Eligibility:\nCategory A:\nAll staff positions, regardless of remote work eligibility, require an initial 30-calendar-day on-campus work period. Based on an evaluation by the supervisor and area Vice President, this position is classified as Category A as defined in the College’sRemote Work Policy, without occasional ad-hoc remote work flexibility. Your position is essential to on-campus operations and requires you to work exclusively on campus\nThis is a part-time, up to 20 hours per week, position.
