We are a group of people who are guided by the belief that by empowering our teams and providing the necessary time, tools, and support we can foster a creative culture where everyone can do their best work.\nWe’re looking for an experienced Senior Gameplay Designer with a passion for creating compelling combat, enemies, and encounters, to join our Montreal team and help bring our first AAA game to life.\nWhat You'll Do:\nDesign, implement, and tune enemies, abilities, and combat behaviors.\nCreate NPC AI using Unreal Engine tools and visual scripting.\nBuild engaging encounter compositions that support pacing and progression.\nTake gameplay features from prototype through implementation and polish.\nBalance combat difficulty, enemy roles, and player-facing feedback.\nCollaborate with design, animation, engineering, and level teams.\nProvide feedback and mentorship to other gameplay designers.\nWhat You'll Bring:\nSenior-level experience designing combat for action or action RPG titles.\nExperience creating enemies, abilities, AI behaviors, and encounters.\nStrong Unreal Engine and visual scripting skills.\nA deep understanding of combat pacing, balance, readability, and player feedback.\nStrong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nAt least one shipped AAA or comparable title.\nNice to Have:\nExperience designing boss encounters.\nFamiliarity with Unreal Behavior Trees, EQS, and Gameplay Ability System.\nExperience working with animation systems and combat metrics.\nExperience with 1st-person action combat and mechanics.\nWe are an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer\nWizards and Skeleton Key is committed to equality of opportunity in all aspects of employment.
