This role will be responsible for evaluating the appropriate accounting treatment for our investments (equity investments, debt securities, financing receivables, real estate and securitizations) as well as the subsequent accounting for certain complex transactions including research and applying facts to judgmental areas of the accounting guidance. This role will also support quarterly close activities such as entries for Equity Method Investments, Current Expected Credit Loss (CECL) analysis, and footnote development. This position will report to our AVP - Technical Accounting.\nCOMPENSATION\nThe expected base salary range of will be based on experience and location. and much more.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nCollaborating with other departments to assess the impact of transaction terms on their related accounting treatment\nDrafting and reviewing accounting memos to document our accounting conclusions for our investments as well as select other technical accounting matters\nCollaborating with joint venture partner accounting teams in the preparation and review of equity investment income/loss allocations using the hypothetical liquidation at book value (“HLBV”) method and the traditional equity method\nResearching accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles\nContributing to the operating effectiveness of our compliance with a Sarbanes-Oxley (404) internal controls environment\nCreating efficiencies in processes through the use of automation tools\nEDUCATION AND PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE\n8+ years of relevant accounting and industry experience\nCPA certification\nPublic accounting experience working with publicly traded companies subject to SOX internal control requirements and 10Q/10K filing deadlines\nPreferred experience with US GAAP codification sections ASC 810, ASC 323, ASC 310, ASC 860, ASC 842, and ASC 606\nDemonstrated experience of technical accounting research\nExperience drafting accounting memos and accounting policies\nKnowledge and demonstrated understanding of the hypothetical liquidation at book value method for equity method investment income/loss allocations\nEnergy or financial services industries experience preferred\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\nStrong proficiency in Excel data analysis techniques\nStrong understanding of financial valuation concepts, including DCF, NPV and IRR\nFamiliarity with project finance transactions and documentation\nProven ability to lead an accurate and timely close process\nProactive and problem-solving mindset\nAbility to rapidly and accurately analyze complex information and communicate the information concisely\nDependable and reliable, excellent at taking initiative, and can work independently without close supervision\nComposure under pressure, with the ability to balance competing priorities and the desire to work in a fast-paced, innovative, entrepreneurial environment\nStrong attention to detail\nStrong interpersonal skills;
