You will join the existing Plant Engineering team and work together with colleagues in Belgium and across our international MCF organisation on challenging data centre projects for both national and international clients. Within this team, we are actively building an MCF hub in Belgium, where you will contribute to projects that are designed and delivered in collaboration with our international teams. In this role, you will also play an important part in coordinating and technically supporting the transition towards the execution phase for our clients.\nWhat you do as Lead Mechanical Engineer (MCF/ Data Centres)\nIn the role of Lead Mechanical Engineer, you are responsible for technically leading and coordinating mechanical installations within Mission Critical Facilities and data centre projects. You will work on complex projects for national and international clients and play a key role within the multidisciplinary project team, collaborating closely with international colleagues across our MCF organisation.\nYour responsibilities include:\nLeading and developing the mechanical design from concept phase through to detailed design, ensuring technical quality, buildability and compliance with standards, guidelines and client requirements;\nCoordinating and aligning mechanical engineering with other disciplines such as electrical, civil and structural engineering;\nCoordinating mechanical design activities between the Belgian team and international project teams, contributing to the further development of the MCF hub;\nReviewing and assessing designs and calculations of fellow engineers and acting as the technical point of contact for mechanical topics towards project teams, clients and external parties;\nGuiding and supporting (junior) engineers and actively contributing to knowledge sharing within the team;\nIdentifying optimisation opportunities, innovative solutions and supporting the application of digitalisation within the design process;\nSupporting the execution phase and aligning with stakeholders, playing a key role in translating design into realisation.\nWhere you will work\nAt Haskoning, you will join an independent, employee-owned international consultancy that combines engineering, design, and consultancy services with software and technology. Within dedicated multidisciplinary teams, we deliver excellent results, processes and collaborations.\nWhat you bring\nYou are an experienced mechanical engineer with a strong technical foundation and the ability to oversee and lead mechanical design activities within complex projects. You work in a structured way and communicate clearly within a multidisciplinary and international environment.\nYou also recognise yourself in the following:\nYou hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline;\nYou have several years of experience as a mechanical engineer, preferably within data centres, mission critical environments or other technically complex buildings;\nYou have experience in technically leading and coordinating mechanical design activities within projects;\nYou have a solid understanding of mechanical installations, as well as relevant standards and guidelines within the construction and building services sector;\nYou have a good command of English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French is considered an advantage.\nWhat you can expect from us\nAt Haskoning, we believe that the well-being of our employees is essential to our shared success.
