The Systems Administrator will work collaboratively within the Information Technology team to support campus operations and contribute to a robust technological environment.\nJob Summary:\nManage Windows Server and Hyper-V Infrastructure: Oversee the installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments, with a primary focus on Hyper-V hyperconverged infrastructure and virtual machine optimization for high availability and performance.\nAdminister Core IT Systems: Manage identity management systems (Active Directory), network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls), and ensure robust security measures including patching, antivirus, and intrusion detection.\nEnsure Data Integrity and Business Continuity: Perform regular system backups, develop and test disaster recovery plans, and provide crisis response for critical system outages.\nProvide Comprehensive Technical Support & Documentation: Offer technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues, while developing and maintaining thorough documentation for all systems and procedures.\nCollaborate and Evolve IT Services: Work closely with IT staff and campus departments to integrate and support various college systems, participate in planning new technologies, and continuously update personal knowledge and skills.\nSee the job description for a full list of essential functions.\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience in lieu of education.\nThree to five years of demonstrated experience in systems administration, network administration.\nProficiency with Windows Server operating systems and Hyper-V virtualization, especially within a hyperconverged environment.\nExperience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace) and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is preferred.\nEqual Opportunity Employment\nHastings College is committed to supporting a welcoming academic and employment environment.
