Reporting to the Metals group, you will support offices globally working from our Houston, TX office location.\nWe’re entrepreneurs with a technical soul. We encourage candidates to connect with their recruiter and hiring manager to understand workplace expectations and ensure the role aligns with their goals.\nHatch will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.\nQualifications:\nRoles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills\nPreferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in ceramic engineering, material science, or chemical engineering\nMinimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale\nAs the successful candidate, you will:\nFocus on ceramic, refractory, and masonry materials for metallurgical applications\nWork on new equipment design and construction, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and material and equipment inspection\nProvide remote and onsite support for clients with a focus on high pressure metallurgical equipment\nProvide on-site support such as shop and field inspections, material testing, quality control, and installation monitoring\nReview data, generate reports, create specifications and designs, provide recommendations, and present findings and results\nParticipate in domestic and international travel, with approximately 30% of time (on an annual basis) spent at vendors’ manufacturing facilities and client sites\nParticipate in multi-disciplinary project teams\nYou bring to the role:\nStrong understanding of mechanical behavior of materials \nStrong understanding of chemical reactions in materials\nAbility and willingness to research and develop solutions for complex problems\nExperience with ceramic materials, refractories, and masonry\nExperience with lab testing\nMechanical drafting experience such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks\nDemonstrated hands-on experience\nWillingness to work at remote sites\nAbility to travel globally\nAbility to work at heights, in confined spaces and wear fall protection equipment\nCompetencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):\nGood understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects\nAbility to learn quickly and to take on new challenges\nCollaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nShows critical and creative thinking and problem solving and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges\nAdapts and embraces change\nRequirements for all sectors:\nTo live our manifesto.
