Hatch is seeking a Senior Engineer, Renewable Power interested in the integration of Utility Scale Solar PV, wind, and BESS, to work as part of the eGRID team. Reporting to the Global Lead, Renewable Power and Energy Storage, you will support projects globally working from Hatch’s Mississauga offices.\nThis posting is part of a proactive talent search as we plan for upcoming growth. Join our team today and help make a difference!\nAs a successful candidate, you will:\nLead utility scale renewable energy project delivery as the project manager, project engineer, or subject matter expert\nWork collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment\nWork closely with other subject matter experts in solar, wind, energy storage, microgrids, system studies, controls, transmission and distribution, etc.\nHave technical experience in wind, solar, and/or energy storage, including energy production estimates, techno-economic and sizing assessment, vendor engagement and solution assessment, specification and vendor assessment, and the design of utility scale renewable energy facilities, including facility layouts, technology selection, collector network, communications and monitoring, substation design, and interconnection to the grid, either as stand-alone or hybrid facilities\nLead technology assessment and selection, techno-economic analysis and sizing, technical specifications, and delivery for our projects\nHave strong knowledge of the renewable energy market trends and industry in Canada. Knowledge of the USA and global market is considered an asset\nHave good knowledge of the various Canadian Utilities, and ISOs and associated policies, standards, guidelines, rules and regulations as applicable to North American energy markets as well as other jurisdictions\nSupport business development, including fostering relationships with existing clients, preparing proposals for new work, and supporting development of new client relationships.\nMentor junior engineers\nWrite technical papers and present at conferences to demonstrate expertise in the field and engage clients\nConduct site visits, factory visits, field assessments and client engagement meetings\nTravel to client meetings, conferences, and project sites (some remote sites)\nYou Bring to the Role:\nBachelor of Engineering or Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree with interest in Renewable Power. Post-graduate degrees in a related field are considered an asset\n8+ years of experience in engineering\n2+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry\nLicensed professional engineer (or ability to get a license in less than 1 year)\nExperience with utility scale wind, solar, and/or energy storage project management and delivery, and construction\nExperience with microgrid, commercial & industrial, or community renewable energy and energy storage projects is considered an asset\nExperience working for an EPC and/or renewable developers is considered an asset\nSoftware Tools familiarity with the following, or comparable:\nSystem Modeling such as Homer Pro, PVsyst, Helioscope, WindFarmer, WASP, PSSE, and PSCAD\nProficiency in Microsoft office suite, including word, excel and power poin\n\nCompetencies (knowledge, skill, attributes):\nGood understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects\nAbility to learn quickly and to take on new challenges\nAbility to work within multi-disciplinary teams and experience in leading teams and projects\nCollaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills\nExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nShows critical and creative thinking and problem solving, and brings forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges\nAdapts and embraces change\nWhat a Career at Hatch Will Offer You\nWe’re entrepreneurs with a technical soul.
