Join our vision of a low-carbon world and help make positive change!\nThe Energy Client Operations sector practice is comprised of a group of Asset Management Specialists and engineers providing support to our Power and Oil and Gas clients. Our energy expertise in the oil and gas sector comprises the entire value chain - upstream, midstream, and downstream; and in the power sector includes thermal, nuclear, waterpower, renewable, hybrid, transmission and distribution, and grid modernization. The Senior Asset Management Engineer will work within this multi-disciplinary team to support delivering projects, while supporting business development activities to grow the pipeline of asset management projects. This role can be based in Mississauga, Vancouver, Calgary, or Montreal.\nThis posting is part of a proactive talent search as we plan for upcoming growth. We are seeking to connect with qualified candidates now, with the expectation of hiring in the near future once final approval is completed. This is commonly referred to as an Expression of Interest requisition, or EOI.\nAs an Accredited Asset Management Assessor, and a Corporate Member of The Institute of Asset Management (IAM), Hatch is expanding activities in the asset management, asset performance and asset investment planning advisory services supporting our clients in:\nAsset Management System development, refinement, and alignment with ISO5500X standards. \nAsset risk analytics, value framework development and refinement, vulnerability assessments, and resiliency planning. \nReliability engineering and data analytics, statistical methodologies, artificial intelligence and machine learning \nAsset custom failure curve development, damage assessments, and root cause investigations. \nAsset health index formulation, condition assessment inspections & monitoring, and performance modelling. \nDevelopment and regulatory support with Asset Management Plans (AMPs), DSPs, IRPs, load forecasting, and grid modernization technology business cases. \nProject Delivery Responsibilities:\nSolving challenging client problems that could include planning, business case development, implementation, monitoring, or assessments of any project scope referenced above. \nLeading and/or supporting work package development to deliver on client expectations.\nSupporting and supervising the advancement and creation of project deliverables produced by junior/intermediate members of the team.\nDelivering tasks in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including all of Hatch’s policies and procedures, including Safety, Environmental, Quality Assurance, & Quality Control. \nMay include day-to-day project management functions, depending on project.\nSupporting the identification of potential partners such as vendors or niche specialists. \nWorking alongside and/or supporting delivery of projects from other Hatch teams, as applicable. \nBusiness Development Responsibilities:\nLeading and/or participation in Bib/NoBid discussions for potential opportunities. \nLeading and/or supporting the creation of proposals, including methodology and level of effort estimates. \nCreating thought papers, abstracts, & white papers to expand market aware of the team & Hatch’s offerings. \nAttending trade conferences and industry association meetings, as applicable. \nSpecialist Qualifications:\nMinimum 12+ years of relevant utility sector or utility consulting experience, with at least 2 years of experience with asset management / capital planning teams of an electric utility, or other industries with heavy utility-scale infrastructure. \nStrong knowledge of the core aspects of Electrical Engineering or Mechanical, particularly in relation to Generation/Transmission/Distribution assets. The candidate should possess a solid understanding of electrical equipment, infrastructure, maintenance practices and ability to understand drawings. \nExperience with asset management roadmaps and/or programs for electrical infrastructure. \nKnowledge of the requirements within asset management standards ISO 55000, 55001, and 55002. \nKnowledge of reliability engineering concepts and applicable statistical methodologies. \nExperience with data analytics and asset management software tools such as Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), asset performance and investment planning decision support tools. \nExperience with system optimized planning & utilization, asset evaluation & selection, development, asset GIS tagging & tracking, maintenance planning, and ultimate disposal or renewal of utility assets. \nFamiliarity in conducting asset life cycle cost analysis and maturity assessments/gap analysis. \nBachelor’s degree in engineering or other applicable technical degree, preferably electrical or mechanical. \nPreference will be given to candidates with professional certifications in asset management and project management (e.g., CAMA, IAM-Diploma/certification and PMP). \nReporting to the Global Director, Energy Client Operations, the position requires a strong level of interpersonal communication skills and demonstrated asset management project delivery experience. Occasional domestic and international travel to client and site locations is required.\nBase salary range: $123,000 - $165,000\nAt Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
