Apply today!\nHatch is seeking a Ventilation Engineer to join our mine ventilation team based in our Brisbane office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, analysis, optimisation, and management of mine ventilation systems for underground mining projects across various commodities and geographies. This role involves working with concept studies through to detailed engineering and operational support.\nThe Mining Ventilation Engineer will play a key role in ensuring compliance with applicable safety regulations, operational requirements, and industry best practices while supporting Hatch's commitment to positive change through technical excellence and innovation.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport ventilation studies, assessments, and engineering calculations to help ensure underground mines maintain safe air quality, control heat and contaminants, and comply with operational and regulatory requirements.\nAssist with ventilation data analysis by reviewing airflow, pressure, gas, and environmental monitoring data to identify trends, diagnose issues, and support informed operational decisions.\nContribute to ventilation system design and optimisation initiatives aimed at improving airflow efficiency, reducing energy consumption, supporting mine expansion plans, and enhancing overall safety and productivity.\nAssist with the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation to clearly communicate findings, recommendations, and project outcomes to clients, site personnel, and project stakeholders.\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mining engineers, ventilation specialists, geologists, and operational personnel to ensure ventilation requirements are effectively integrated into mine planning, project delivery, and day-to-day operations.\nPreferred Skills and Knowledge\nRelevant engineering degree in Mining, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.\nUnderstanding of underground mining methods, mine ventilation principles, and ventilation infrastructure including mine fans.\nExposure to mine cooling/refrigeration systems and familiarity with software such as Ventsim, mine planning, or mine design tools is advantageous.\nStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to undertake site-based work and develop operational experience.\nWhy join us?\nWork with great people to make a difference\nCollaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions\nTop employer\nWhat we offer you?\nGlobal project exposure across complex, impactful industries\nStrong focus on career growth, learning and mentorship\nCollaborative, values-driven culture focused on innovation and excellence\nDon't meet every single requirement?
