The company is engaged in provision of custom designed water and wastewater purification systems, community and municipal scale water supply and sewerage projects, water and wastewater consultation and customized operation and maintenance contracts in the same capacity.\nPuritas is seeking a dynamic, technically strong and results-oriented engineer to join its Technical & Business Development Team, with a focus on expanding the company's presence in the Maldives and other potential regional markets.\nPosition: Assistant Manager - Business Development (Technical)\nLocation: Puritas Head Office, Colombo 10\nJob Responsibilities\nTechnical\nReview client enquiries, RFQs and tender documents to understand technical requirements, specifications and scope.\n\nPrepare technical proposals, process descriptions, P&IDs/layouts (with the design team), equipment lists and BOQs.\n\nEvaluate supplier quotations and equipment offers for technical compliance and value.\n\nCoordinate technical presentations and clarifications with clients, consultants and contractors.\n\nBusiness Development\nSupport and coordinate business development activities to achieve the company's growth objectives.\n\nIdentify and develop new business opportunities and expand the company's presence in the Maldives and regional markets.\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, developers, contractors and business partners.\n\nGenerate leads, follow up on opportunities and support their conversion into projects.\n\nConduct market research and competitor analysis to identify upcoming projects and potential customers.\n\nRepresent Puritas at international exhibitions, trade fairs, business forums and networking events.\n\nParticipate in client meetings, commercial negotiations and technical discussions.\n\nMaintain and regularly update the business opportunity pipeline and report progress to management.\n\nCoordinate enquiries, RFQs, tenders and proposals with the technical and commercial teams, through to submission and follow-up.\n\nAssist management in developing market expansion plans and business growth strategies.\n\nCandidate Profile\nA degree in Engineering (Chemical, Environmental, or Mechanical preferred) is compulsory.\n\nA professional qualification in Business Management, Marketing or a related field will be an added advantage.\n\nPreferably 5-8 years of experience in water/wastewater treatment, technical sales, business development or B2B marketing.\n\nSound technical knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, including RO/SWRO and STP/ETP systems.\n\nAbility to coordinate and manage project-related activities, priorities and timelines effectively.\n\nStrong communication, networking, presentation and negotiation skills.\n\nExcellent written and spoken English.\n\nFamiliarity with AI-powered tools and their practical applications in market research, lead generation and business development will be an added advantage.\n\nA commercially minded, proactive individual who can work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.\n\nWillingness to travel overseas for client meetings, site visits, exhibitions and other business development activities.\n\nIf you're ready to take on this challenging and rewarding role, please submit your CV within 14 days of this advertisement by clicking \"Apply Now\".
