$175,000\nLocation: Halifax, NS (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)\n\nTeam Lead, AI Engineering\nWhat You'll Be Doing\n· Lead and grow a high-performing AI Engineering team through hiring, coaching, mentoring, and capability development.\n· Define technical direction, engineering standards, and delivery practices for AI-enabled applications and platforms.\n· Design, build, and support secure, cloud-native AI and machine learning solutions in production environments.\n· Partner with business stakeholders to identify AI adoption opportunities, define roadmaps, and prioritize initiatives with measurable business outcomes.\n· Lead the development of document intelligence solutions, including document classification, information extraction, workflow automation, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).\n· Establish governance processes for AI model evaluation, monitoring, responsible AI practices, and production risk management.\n· Oversee the delivery of AI, machine learning, NLP, agent-based, and cloud-native solutions while ensuring scalability, security, and production readiness.\n· Drive engineering excellence through quality standards, observability, automated testing, data quality controls, and continuous improvement initiatives.\n· Lead sprint planning, capacity management, risk mitigation, and delivery commitments across the team.\n· Collaborate closely with data scientists, data engineers, architects, security teams, and business stakeholders to deliver enterprise AI solutions.\n· Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and platforms, ensuring adoption aligns with organizational standards and governance requirements.\n· Lead incident management, post-mortems, operational readiness, and platform resiliency initiatives.\nWhat You'll Need to Succeed\n· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.\n· 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python development and cloud delivery experience.\n· Prior experience leading engineering teams delivering AI, machine learning, NLP, intelligent document processing, or cloud-native solutions.\n· Strong public cloud experience, preferably AWS, with hands-on exposure to AI-enabled application development.\n· Experience with foundation model platforms such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic APIs, or similar technologies.\n· Strong understanding of AI solution architecture, machine learning lifecycle management, DevOps, observability, security, and software quality practices.\n· Experience with AI and machine learning frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, or similar tools.\n· Knowledge of relational, NoSQL, and vector database technologies.\n· Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document intelligence, natural language processing, fine-tuning, and AI governance practices.\n· Proven ability to lead Agile teams, manage priorities, mentor engineers, and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.\n· Experience implementing AI testing strategies, model evaluation frameworks, prompt validation, monitoring, regression controls, and drift detection.\n· Experience working in financial services or other regulated industries is highly desirable.\n· Strong track record of hiring, coaching, developing, and retaining engineering talent.\n|\nWhat You'll Get in Return\nYou will have the opportunity to lead a growing AI Engineering function focused on delivering innovative AI-enabled solutions within a highly collaborative and technology-driven environment.
