The position is designed as an entry pathway for a recent graduate to develop capability in supply chain, demand and supply planning, and production scheduling in the chicken processing industry. \n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES \n\nPlanning & Scheduling Support \nAssist with preparation of daily and weekly production and scheduling plans in line with the Master Production Schedule (MPS), customer orders, poultry availability and plant capacity.\nUpdate and maintain planning spreadsheets and systems with accurate data (demand forecasts, production plans, inventory levels, live bird intake, yields and orders).\nSupport the translation of demand forecasts into supply and production plans for primary and secondary processing.\nHelp monitor alignment between forecast, production, inventory and customer requirements, escalating potential gaps early. \n\nData Analysis & Reporting \nWork with large data sets to extract, clean and analyse information from planning tools and business systems (e.g. ERP, production reports, sales data).\nBuild and maintain Excel reports, pivot tables and basic charts to support daily supply and production planning decisions.\nTrack and report key indicators such as forecast accuracy, service levels, stock levels, waste, and schedule adherence.\nIdentify trends, variances and potential issues (e.g. forecast vs production vs inventory) and highlight these to senior planners. \n\nSupply Chain Coordination \nWork closely with production, farming/live bird supply, sales, logistics, warehousing and procurement teams to understand constraints and communicate planning outcomes.\nSupport daily and weekly planning meetings by preparing data, updating trackers and summarising key actions.\nAssist with scenario analysis (e.g. demand changes, bird shortages, downtime, customer changes) and document recommended planning responses. \n\nContinuous Improvement \nDocument standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions and templates for planning activities.\nContribute ideas to improve planning processes, tools and reporting to increase accuracy, efficiency and visibility along the supply chain.\nSupport small improvement projects related to demand planning, production scheduling, inventory management and information flow. \n\nFood Safety, Quality & Safety \nFollow all Hazeldenes’ policies and procedures related to food safety, quality, HACCP, animal welfare and regulatory requirements within a poultry processing environment.\nComply with workplace health and safety (WHS) procedures, including safe systems of work and correct use of PPE.\nImmediately report hazards, near misses and non-conformances to the relevant leader. \n\nCareer Development \nActively participate in on-the-job learning, coaching and any formal development activities agreed with the Planning Leadership and HR.\nSeek feedback and demonstrate ongoing learning and improvement in technical, analytical and interpersonal skills. \n\nABOUT YOU \nWe’re looking for a motivated professional who enjoys working with data, has exposures to FMCG , keen to learn new processes, and supporting a busy supply chain team in a fast-moving food manufacturing environment.
