Ensure good housekeeping within the quality premises and contribute to plant cleanliness.\nAdvice, liaise, and direct other units and personnel of the lab on the plant quality control to achieve set targets.\nAnalyze raw materials, intermediate and finished products to determine chemical or physical properties, composition, relationships or reactions using spectroscopic and/or gravimeter techniques according to the Quality Control Plan.\nEnsuring that analyses are accurate and precise and planned analyses are completed on time.\nAnalyze and ensure the daily chemical composition of all the additive/corrective in various feeders (HGL, gypsum, iron ore, sand and clinker) and the raw mix. Follow up the stacking pattern and reclaiming of the material at the RMS/CBS/LBS.\nTaking full responsibility of the mix proportion of additive/correctives, depending on their chemical composition for production dept.\nDocument and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency or to diagnose malfunctions.\nAchieve set quality targets within time and liaise with the CCR Engineers / Shift Leaders to define corrective and preventive actions whenever there is deviation from target set for process and product.\nMonitoring performance by gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.\nMonitor all parameters of QA& C Instruments (XRF, XRD, QCX, Auto samplers, LECO & the Cross Belt Analyzer, etc.)\nMaintain all laboratory equipment to ensure proper working status and troubleshoot simple malfunctions when needed otherwise follow up with the maintenance dept.\nUndertake calibration of the XRF/XRD machines when required.\nRoutine maintenance and calibration of LECO and Preparation of secondary standard for LECO monitoring.\nPrepare standard solutions and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests. \nDirect, coordinate, or advise Assistant Shift Chemist (ASC) and samplers in test procedures for analyzing components or physical properties of materials and ensure that all analyses are performed according to the SOP.\nGuiding, directing, and motivating subordinates - Providing guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.\nDeveloping and building teams - encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.\nCoordinating the work and activities of others - Getting members of a shift to work together to accomplish tasks.\nTo carry out any other duty/assignment or work in any function as may be required due to job demands and or emerging circumstances by the Quality Coordinator and or the Quality Manager.\nRequirements\nGood knowledge of cement manufacturing process. \nGood knowledge of product quality parameters and quality control tests.\nAble to take initiative based on sound problem solving skills\nHas previously worked in any Manufacturing Laboratory as Quality Assurance.\nEducational Qualification\nBachelor's Degree or equivalent in any Natural/Physical/Applied Sciences as a main subject.\nBenefits\nAt HBM Nigeria, our people are passionate about finding better ways to build.
