The role involves managing software assets throughout their lifecycle, ensuring license compliance, optimizing software utilization, supporting audits, and driving cost-effective license management practices across multiple vendors and platforms.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the complete lifecycle of software assets, including procurement, deployment, utilization, renewal, and retirement.\nMaintain accurate software inventory and entitlement records across enterprise environments.\nMonitor software license consumption and ensure compliance with vendor licensing terms and agreements.\nConduct periodic license reconciliations and identify compliance risks.\nSupport internal and external software license audits from vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, VMware, SAP, IBM, and others.\nCollaborate with procurement, finance, IT operations, and vendors for software renewals and contract management.\nIdentify opportunities for software license optimization, re-harvesting, and cost reduction.\nPrepare compliance and utilization reports for stakeholders and management.\nEstablish and maintain SAM processes, policies, and governance standards.\nTrack software renewals, maintenance agreements, subscriptions, and support contracts.\nSupport cloud licensing models including Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS, and SaaS platforms.\nParticipate in IT asset management initiatives and continuous process improvements.\nSkill Requirements\n3-8+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), or License Management.\nStrong understanding of software licensing models including perpetual, subscription, SaaS, user-based, device-based, and consumption-based licensing.\nExperience working with major software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, VMware, IBM, SAP, Red Hat, and ServiceNow.\nHands-on experience with SAM/ITAM tools such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow Software, Lansweeper, Ivanti, or ManageEngine Asset Explorer.\nKnowledge of software compliance, license reconciliation, entitlement management, and audit preparation.\nExperience analyzing license consumption data and generating utilization reports.\nUnderstanding of software procurement and contract management processes.\nFamiliarity with ITIL processes including Incident, Change, Request, and Configuration Management.\nStrong analytical, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.\nKnowledge of cloud licensing and subscription management for M365, Azure, AWS, and SaaS applications.\nOther Requirements\nCertifications such as ITIL Foundation, CSAM, CHAMP, CITAM, Microsoft Licensing, or Flexera certifications.\nExperience with ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation or administration.\nExposure to FinOps and Cloud Cost Management practices.\nKnowledge of CMDB, discovery tools, and asset lifecycle automation.\nExperience supporting global software compliance programs.\nFamiliarity with Power BI, Excel analytics, and automation using PowerShell or Python.\nExposure to vendor negotiations, contract renewals, and optimization
