Job Summary

About the role

You'll build the backend and blockchain layer behind regulated digital asset products - tokenised deposits, custody, stablecoin rails and on-chain settlement. This sits at the intersection of core banking engineering and public/permissioned blockchain infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Backend engineering - Design and ship enterprise-grade Java/Kotlin microservices and APIs that meet bank-grade availability, latency and security standards.
• Blockchain development - Implement on-chain business logic and workflows: smart contract interactions, mint/burn, asset transfers, wallet lifecycle and key management flows.
• Integration - Connect the platform to custody providers, wallet infrastructure, node providers and SaaS blockchain platforms; integrate with core banking, payments and ledger systems.
• Security & resilience - Apply secure coding practices, participate in architecture and threat reviews, and support audit, compliance and production readiness.
• Collaboration - Work in a cross-functional agile squad with architects, DevOps, security, product owners and blockchain operations; mentor engineers and share knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

Experience

• 10+ years in software engineering, solution design or architecture, including production ownership
• Hands-on experience with blockchain protocols
• Background in financial services, payments or fintech - or a demonstrable grasp of how regulated money movement works
• Strong stakeholder management across business and technology
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Fluent English (C1+

Technical

• Strong: Java (preferred), Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices
• Solid: event-driven architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQL and NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git workflows
• Good understanding of distributed systems, API design, system integration and scalability patterns

Skill Requirements

Platform Integration

• Build integrations with digital asset custody and wallet providers.
• Develop connectivity with blockchain infrastructure and third-party services.
• Collaborate on SaaS blockchain platform implementation initiatives.

Security & Reliability

• Follow secure coding and software engineering best practices.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions.
• Contribute to operational readiness and production support activities.
• Support compliance, audit, and security requirements.
