This role is central to the development and optimization of complex robotic and automated systems. You will be instrumental in driving projects from the initial concept phase through to final implementation, leveraging a multidisciplinary approach encompassing mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrototype Hardware Development.\n\nLead the development of robotic and electromechanical hardware from early conceptual ideation through detailed design, prototyping, and final hardware bring-up.\n\nThis includes translating high-level functional requirements into robust, testable prototype hardware suitable for iterative development and validation.\n\nMulti-Disciplinary Engineering Assessment:\n\nApply a broad range of engineering disciplines-including mechanical, electrical, electronics, embedded systems, and software engineering-to evaluate the current state of robotic systems.\n\nPerform root cause analysis of technical issues, identify system inefficiencies, and propose design, performance, reliability, or manufacturability improvements across hardware and software boundaries.\n\nProject Evaluation and Technical Planning:\n\nIndependently assess new and ongoing robotics projects by evaluating technical complexity, risks, constraints, timelines, and dependencies.\n\nClearly understand project goals and use sound engineering judgment to define the most effective development approach, milestones, resources, and execution plans.\n\nRobotics System Integration & Validation:\n\nSupport the integration of mechanical hardware with electronics, sensors, actuators, control systems, and embedded software.\n\nParticipate in system-level testing, debugging, and validation to ensure robotic platforms meet performance, safety, and operational requirements.\n\nEnd-to-End Product Development: Support in all aspects of robotics hardware development, including:\n\nConceptual and detailed mechanical design\n\nEngineering analysis and trade-off studies\n\n3D CAD modeling and design for manufacturability/assembly (DFM/DFA)\n\nCreation of detailed engineering drawings and documentation\n\nBill of Materials (BOM) generation and cost estimation\n\nCoordination with vendors and fabrication partners\n\nPrototype assembly, integration, and system bring-up\n\nFunctional, performance, and reliability testing of robotic subsystems and full systems\n\nClear reporting of test results, design decisions, and lessons learned.\n\nSkill Requirements\nUnderstanding of electromechanical systems, including motors, actuators, sensors, gear trains, and structural components\n\nWorking knowledge of electrical and embedded systems, including PCB interaction, power distribution, and basic firmware/software interfaces\n\nExperience with prototype fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, and troubleshooting\n\nExperience working with robotic platforms, subsystems, or automation equipment, including mobile robots, industrial robots, or custom robotic systems\n\nExperience with Robots in integrating sensors and communication for Teleoperation\n\nExperience integrating commercial off the shelf Robots using their proprietary APIs or SDKs\n\nDeep proficiency in ROS / ROS 2 (Robot Operating System)\n\nProgramming Language expertise : Python & C++\n\nExperience with Linux environments, Docker containerization, and CI/CD pipelines for deploying code to remote robot fleets\n\nDeep understanding of commercial industrial protocols EtherCAT, CAN bus, TCP/IP\n\nAbility to assess robotic system performance and recommend design, reliability, efficiency, or cost improvements\n\nExposure to controls, PLCs or embedded control architectures is a strong advantage\n\nAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet development timelines in a fast-paced R&D or product environment\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration\n\nAbility to work closely with software engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and external vendors\n\nGood to have knowledge in mechanical design and 3D CAD (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or similar)\n\nExposure to engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation\n\nGood to have understanding of robot mechanics, kinematics, motion systems, and system integration\n\nOther
