This is an entry-level, permanent role suited to someone early in their career who is interested in purchasing, inventory control, and hands-on operational work within a technical or laboratory environment. You will work closely with engineering and research teams to ensure the right items are procured timely and internal assets are accurately tracked, safely handled, and available when required.\nKey Responsibilities\nProcurement & Operational Support\nSupport the sourcing and ordering of equipment, spare parts, and supplies through approved internal systems.\n\nAssist with purchase order tracking, invoice checks, and basic supplier coordination under guidance from senior team members.\n\nHelp raise and follow up support tickets for system or process issues as required.\n\nInventory & Internal Asset Management\nSupport the maintenance of accurate records for hardware components, equipment, and physical assets across on-site labs and external storage locations.\n\nAssist with cataloguing and tracking internal assets using inventory management systems, ensuring consistency between physical stock and system records.\n\nParticipate in regular (monthly) stock checks, helping to identify shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items.\n\nSupport the availability of commonly used equipment and supplies to minimise disruption to day-to-day operations.\n\nShipping Between Sites & Storage\nAssist with shipping and receiving activities for internal transfers of components, assemblies, and equipment between labs, storage facilities, suppliers, and other company sites, including locations in the UK and USA.\n\nHelp prepare items for shipment, including packing, labelling, and documentation, following established procedures.\n\nSupport the safe handling and movement of sensitive or high-value equipment.\n\nLab & Storage Organization\nHelp maintain organized, tidy, and safe lab and storage areas.\n\nAssist with moving robots, equipment, and inventory as required to support operational needs.\n\nFollow handling procedures and safety guidelines when working with specialized or sensitive hardware.\n\nSystems, Data & Documentation Support\nAssist with updating inventory and asset records when items are received, moved, or retired.\n\nSupport the maintenance of shipping and asset documentation in line with internal and regulatory requirements.\n\nLearn and comply with relevant health and safety policies, lab procedures, and equipment handling standards.\n\nSkill Requirements\nInterest or early experience in procurement, inventory management or lab/operations support.\n\nComfortable working with physical equipment and maintaining accurate records.\n\nBasic experience using inventory systems, spreadsheets, or similar tools.\n\nStrong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.\n\nWillingness to follow defined processes, safety requirements, and handling procedures.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively with technical and operational teams.\n\nDesirable Experience\nExperience working in a laboratory, engineering, hardware, or research environment.\n\nExposure to stock management activities.\n\nAn interest in developing
