The Fit to Nominal engineer will generate the issue list and setup the binning sessions with the thresholders to ensure a proper and timely manner issue resolution. Also, the Fit to Nominal Engineer has the responsibility of pre-graning and AAR approvals using part dimensional data and launch build data. Specific tasks/responsibilities\nMeasure vehicle level interior and exterior part to part margins and flushness to confirm compliance to Ford’s build event requirements (VAST). Measurements will be taken on completed vehicles.\nPerform the Perceived Quality Reviews based on the GFCPA Audit Checklist.\nLead CTQ / PQ audits with launch teams for (DCV, TT, PP, MP1, MP2) phases.\nVehicle compliance to build requirements will be summarized and documented at each build event (e.g., DCV, TT, PP, MP1, MP2).\nGenerate issue list & setup binning sessions with the broader team within (1) week of audit completion.\nLead CTQ (Critical to Quality) AIMS issues generation & AIMS updates.\nAs part of the DCV, TT, PP part dimensional data analysis, OK to Grain assessments will be made with the required completion milestones for Pre-graining approval.\nAAR Approval: Review AAR dimensional data & final AAR approval.\nWork with PD & VOME Engineers, STA & Suppliers for tracking and binning the Fit & Finish Issues.\nKey Responsibilities\nSkills Required: 3D Modeling, Performance Analytics , Auditing 1. Skill Expectations & Examples\n3D Modeling: Experience navigating and reviewing CAD data in Catia / Teamcenter to evaluate clearances, packaging, and interior/exterior part interfaces.\nPerformance Analytics: Ability to analyze dimensional quality reports, gap & flush data, and track Craftsmanship launch metrics/KPIs.\nAuditing: Conducting physical craftsmanship audits, plant fit-and finish static evaluations, and supplier quality part reviews. Skills Preferred: Six Sigma Green Belt\nSix Sigma Green Belt: Experience applying DMAIC methodology and root-cause analysis tools to resolve launch fit-and-finish issues.\nSkill Requirements\nExperience Required: Skills Required for the Position\n+3 years of experience automotive Body Interior/Exterior related experience.\nDemonstrated knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).\nTeamcenter & VisMockup knowledge equivalent to designer role.\nKnowledge in GD&T and how to perform physical dimensioning on vehicle.\nProficient reading, writing and conversational English required.
