This role owns engineering culture, technical governance, and delivery quality across workstreams that demand carrier-grade reliability - acting as the senior technical anchor between HCLTech's delivery teams and Ericsson's engineering leadership.\nKey Responsibilities\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineering Mindset & Culture\nChampion an engineering culture centered on reliability, performance, and carrier-grade quality.\nInstitutionalize rigorous code review, static/dynamic analysis, and secure-coding practices for network software.\nDrive DevSecOps adoption - CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, automated performance and regression testing.\nInstill engineering discipline around non-functional requirements - availability, latency, and fault tolerance - appropriate to telecom SLAs.\nDelivery Leadership & Technical Governance\nOwn end-to-end technical delivery for Ericsson's AD/Transformation workstreams across network and OSS/BSS platforms.\nSet up architecture governance - design reviews, standards, and NFR/availability sign-off - for carrier-grade systems.\nDrive modernization toward cloud-native network functions, microservices, and containerization (Kubernetes/OpenShift).\nOwn technical risk and technical-debt management for systems operating under strict SLA and regulatory constraints.\nTrack and report engineering health metrics (availability, defect leakage, deployment frequency, MTTR) to account leadership.\nClient & Stakeholder Engagement\nAct as the primary engineering counterpart to Ericsson's engineering and product leadership.\nTranslate Ericsson's network evolution and 5G roadmap into actionable engineering delivery plans.\nRepresent HCLTech in technical governance forums, steering committees, and architecture councils.\nBuild trusted-advisor relationships that grow HCLTech's engineering footprint within the account.\nOperate as the embedded, on-the-ground engineering leader at Ericsson's offices, providing day-to-day client presence and bridging the onshore-offshore delivery model.\nTeam Building, Coaching & Talent\nBuild, mentor, and retain an engineering team with strong telecom domain skills across development, QE, and DevOps.\nDefine skilling plans and technical career paths aligned to network engineering and cloud-native technologies.\nFoster ownership, continuous learning, and engineering craftsmanship across the pods.\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\nDrive adoption of network automation, AI/ML for network operations, and observability practices.\nLead pilots for tooling and automation accelerators relevant to NFV/CNF and 5G network software.\nContribute learnings back into HCLTech's engineering Centre of Excellence.\nSkill Requirements\nRequired Skills & Experience\n16-20 years in IT with substantial experience in Application Development / Digital Transformation delivery.\nProven track record leading engineering teams of 20+ engineers in a telecom or network-software environment.\nStrong hands-on engineering background - Java, C++, or Python, in high-availability system contexts.\nDeep expertise in cloud-native technologies - Kubernetes, Docker, containerized network functions (CNFs).\nStrong command of DevSecOps practices - CI/CD pipelines, IaC, automated performance/regression testing.\nDemonstrated experience with telecom domain concepts - OSS/BSS, network management, or NFV.\nExcellent stakeholder management skills, including experience working with global telecom client teams.\nSolid grounding in Agile/Scaled Agile delivery models within regulated, SLA-driven environments.\nWillingness and ability to be based onsite at Stockholm (Kista), Sweden, or client-designated Ericsson site (exact location to be confirmed) (including any necessary work authorization/relocation).\nPreferred / Good to Have\nDirect experience with 5G network software, network function virtualization (NFV), or network automation.\nFamiliarity with telecom industry standards and frameworks (e.g., 3GPP, TM Forum).\nExperience with carrier-grade availability engineering (five-nines uptime targets).\nRelevant certifications -
