Senior Solution Architect (DPO)

Job Summary

As the Delivery Lead, you will make the automation portfolio executable. Reporting to the Director of Smart Automation, you will convert shaped demand into credible estimates and capacity commitments, control delivery through clear governance, and manage cross-project dependencies, escalation and recovery so committed milestones land predictably and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimation Coordination: Coordinate rough estimates with Engineering and vendors to support funding and prioritisation decisions.
• Business Acceptance: Define acceptance criteria and business sign-off gates for every delivery.
• Capacity & Resource Planning: Build and maintain the delivery capacity and resource plan across projects.
• Delivery Governance & Standards: Own delivery methodology, stage gates, reporting cadence and quality standards.
• Cross-Project Dependencies: Identify, sequence and resolve dependencies across the portfolio.
• Escalation & Recovery: Act as escalation point for at-risk deliveries and lead recovery plans.
• Budget & Vendor Control: Track delivery spend, forecast variance, and manage vendor and procurement engagement.
• Portfolio Planning & Scheduling: Own the integrated delivery roadmap and release calendar across concurrent projects.
• Risk & Issue Management: Maintain the portfolio risk register and drive mitigation before milestones are impacted.
• Performance Reporting: Report delivery KPIs, forecast accuracy and utilisation to the Director of Smart Automation.
• Team Development & Ways of Working: Coach Project Managers and Delivery BAs and continuously improve delivery practices.

Skill Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related
• Delivery and portfolio governance frameworks
• Estimation, capacity planning and financial control
• Experience leading multi-project automation or IT delivery
• Vendor and contract management exposure
