This role requires a proactive engineer who can own operational stability, drive performance improvements, and support mission-critical workloads running on Exadata.\nKey Responsibilities\n Administration & OperationsManage and maintain Oracle 19c/21c databases running on Exadata platforms.\nPerform routine Exadata compute and storage cell administration (CELLCLI, DCLI, cell configuration, patching, etc.).\nOversee backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations (RMAN, Data Guard, RAC).\nEnsure platform stability, reliability, and adherence to best practices.\n\nPerformance Tuning & OptimizationConduct deep performance analysis across SQL, database parameters, storage cells, and Exadata Smart features.\nUtilize and tune Smart Scan, Smart Flash Cache, Storage Indexes, and Hybrid Columnar Compression.\nIdentify and resolve system bottlenecks across compute, network, and storage layers.\n\nTroubleshooting & Incident ResponseDiagnose complex issues spanning ASM, RAC, IORM, InfiniBand/RoCE networking, and storage cells.\nPerform root-cause analysis and implement long-term remediation solutions.\nWork closely with engineering and application teams to resolve performance and availability incidents.\n\n Upgrades, Patching & Lifecycle ManagementPlan and execute patching of Exadata components (GI/DB homes, storage cells, IB switches).\nManage upgrades of database versions, cluster components, and firmware.\nMaintain security compliance and configuration baselines.\n\n Automation & Continuous ImprovementDevelop scripts and tooling (Bash, Python, Ansible, or similar) to automate operations.\nContribute to standard operating procedures, architecture documentation, and knowledge sharing.\n\nSkill Requirements\n5+ years of Oracle DBA experience, including RAC, ASM, and Data Guard.\n 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Exadata in production environments.\nStrong command of:SQL tuning and execution plan analysis.\nAWR/ASH/ADDM diagnostics.\nExadata storage management (CELLCLI, cell monitoring, flash cache tuning).\nResource management using IORM.\n\nSolid understanding of:Exadata networking (InfiniBand/RoCE).\nExadata patching methodologies (OPatch, dbaascli, onecommand).\nLinux administration relevant to Exadata compute nodes.\n\nOther Requirements\nNice-to-Have Qualifications\nExperience with Oracle Cloud Exadata (ExaCS or ExaC@C).\nBackground in automation, CI/CD, or Infrastructure-as-Code.\nKnowledge of performance tuning for high-throughput or low-latency systems.\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as OEM, Prometheus/Grafana, or similar.\nSoft Skills\nStrong analytical mindset and systematic troubleshooting abilities.\nExcellent communication skills-able to explain technical issues clearly.\nProactive, ownership-driven, and comfortable working in high-criticality environments.\nCollaborative and able to work across multiple engineering and business
