Job Description:
The SAP ABAP Technical Lead is responsible for leading offshore ABAP development and support across SAP ECC and S/4HANA landscapes. The role provides technical design leadership, development governance, code-quality oversight, and delivery coordination for enhancements, interfaces, conversions, reports, forms, workflows, and application support while ensuring scalable and high-performing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead offshore ABAP development and support activities across SAP ECC and S/4HANA environments, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
2. Design, develop, review, and optimize reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, workflows, and custom applications using modern ABAP standards.
3. Provide technical leadership for RICEF objects, CDS views, AMDP, OData services, APIs, BAdIs, user exits, enhancements, and Adobe/Smart Forms.
4. Translate functional specifications into efficient technical designs, estimates, development plans, unit-test evidence, and deployment documentation.
5. Manage work allocation, code reviews, defect resolution, transport coordination, release support, mentoring, stakeholder communication, and delivery risks.
6. Drive performance optimization, secure coding, clean-core principles, reusable development, documentation, automation, and continuous improvement.
Skill Requirements
1. 5 to 8 years of strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development and technical support, including at least one leadership or workstream-coordination assignment.
2. Expertise in classical and object-oriented ABAP, RICEF development, debugging, performance tuning, enhancements, BAdIs, user exits, ALV, IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, and forms.
3. Experience with S/4HANA development technologies such as CDS views, AMDP, OData, RAP principles, ABAP Development Tools, and code remediation for HANA.
4. Strong understanding of integration with SAP functional modules and external systems using APIs, web services, middleware, and event-driven interfaces.
