These reusable assets serve as foundational building blocks for multiple modernized applications and are distributed through the enterprise artifact repository.\nThe role focuses on ensuring shared Java components are reliable, maintainable, secure, versioned appropriately, and consumable by application teams. The engineer will work closely with application development teams, platform engineering, architecture, testing teams, and business SMEs to support the long-term operational ownership of common code ecosystem.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrong hands-on Java development experience, including design, development, troubleshooting, refactoring, and production support.\n\nExperience maintaining enterprise Java frameworks, reusable libraries, and shared platform components.\n\nStrong understanding of Maven, Gradle, dependency management, and artifact lifecycle management.\n\nExperience with Artifactory or similar enterprise artifact repositories.\n\nKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code quality controls, and release management.\n\nExperience with GitHub, source control management, branching strategies, and pull request processes.\n\nFamiliarity with legacy modernization, mainframe-to-Java migration, code conversion, or re-platforming initiatives.\n\nWorking knowledge of relational databases and SQL; DB2 LUW experience preferred.\n\nStrong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.\n\nAbility to work across multiple application teams and manage shared-code dependencies.\n\nStrong communication, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration skills.\n\nSkill Requirements\nOwn the lifecycle of common Java libraries, utilities, frameworks, and reusable services.\n\nMaintain and enhance shared components while ensuring backward compatibility and minimal disruption to consuming applications.\n\nEstablish and enforce standards for reusable code, library design, packaging, and consumption.\n\nArtifact Repository Management\nBuild, package, version, and publish approved Java artifacts to Artifactory.\n\nManage artifact versioning, release governance, dependency tracking, and deprecation strategies.\n\nEnsure shared artifacts are properly documented and available for enterprise consumption.\n\nDevelopment & Support\nReview, maintain, and enhance converted Java utilities, common-code components, and shared services delivered through Mainframe modernization.\n\nAnalyze code for maintainability, performance, reliability, operational supportability, and security.\n\nSupport defect triage, root-cause analysis, remediation planning, and validation activities involving shared platform components.\n\nConsumer Team Enablement\nPartner with application teams consuming shared libraries and common services.\n\nProvide guidance on library adoption, upgrade planning, dependency management, and integration best practices.\n\nSupport onboarding of new application teams to common components.\n\nBuild, Release & Quality Engineering\nMaintain build pipelines and automated validation processes for shared components.\n\nImplement and support automated testing, code quality analysis, and security scanning.\n\nEnsure artifacts meet enterprise quality, security, and compliance standards before publication.\n\nOther Requirements\nMainframe modernization and legacy application transformation initiatives.\n\nShared services or platform engineering organizations.\n\nEnterprise artifact repositories such as Artifactory.\n\nMaven Central style dependency management and semantic versioning.\n\nCI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar.\n\nEnterprise-scale Java application support.\n\nCloud-hosted Java workloads and distributed application architectures.\n\nSuccess Measures\nStability and reliability of shared Java components.\n\nSuccessful adoption of common libraries
