This role will manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing and delivery terms, and ensure the timely availability of materials.\nSource and procure raw materials, machined parts, electronic components, hardware, PWBs, stencils, tooling, equipment, software, and outside processing services. \nPrepare and issue RFQs/RFPs, analyze supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and contract terms.\nPlace and manage purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system. \nLead supplier communications to resolve delivery issues, shortages, and technical clarifications. \nExpedite critical materials and proactively address long lead-times, capacity constraints, obsolescence, and single-source dependencies.\nMonitor supplier performance related to quality, delivery, and cost objectives. \nPartner with cross-functional teams to address supplier corrective actions. \nCoordinate with supply chain teams (Stockroom, Receiving) on incoming materials, production kits, shelf life materials, and other shortages as needed.\nMonitor procurement spend and identify cost savings and cost avoidance opportunities. \nEnsure procurement activities comply with regulatory requirements, including ITAR, FAR/DFARS, and AS9100. \nMaintain accurate procurement documentation and supplier records. \nPerform all other duties as required. \nRequirements\nUS Citizenship or Permanent Resident status required.\n2+ years of procurement or related experience. \nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is a plus.\nPrevious experience using ERP/MRP systems is a plus. \nProficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word and Excel).\nProficient with basic numerical skills.\nExcellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.\nSuperior writing, listening, and verbal communication skills.\nStrong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to convey information clearly and concisely.\n Why Join Us?\nWith over 40 years of experience in the defense industry, HDL Research Lab's mission is to design and build high quality custom power electronics for military and aerospace applications.
