This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nWorking alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams, you will support the delivery of CFD consultancy services for a diverse range of projects. You will apply your knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and numerical modelling to help clients understand and optimise airflow, temperature, ventilation and environmental performance.\nThe role will involve producing technically robust CFD models, coordinating with colleagues across different engineering disciplines and contributing to high-quality project deliverables. You will also have opportunities to explore new applications for CFD, develop your technical expertise and work towards professional accreditation.\nABOUT YOU\nYou will bring a strong understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics, together with knowledge of CFD modelling using ANSYS. You should be able to communicate technical information clearly, work collaboratively with different disciplines and manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail, whilst being comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, you’ll be able to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.\nYou will be enthusiastic about developing your career in CFD consultancy and motivated by the opportunity to apply simulation techniques to real-world engineering challenges.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nIn the role of CFD Engineer, we'll count on you to:\nSupport the management and delivery of CFD consultancy services.\nDevelop and assess CFD models under appropriate technical supervision.\nWork with multidisciplinary project teams to identify and deliver suitable modelling solutions.\nReview your own work through established technical quality processes.\nInterpret architectural, structural, MEP and specialist drawings and specifications.\nGather, monitor and report technical, project and financial information.\nBuild effective relationships with colleagues, clients and external project partners.\nContribute to the development of new applications and thought leadership relating to CFD in the built environment.\nMaintain your professional development and awareness of relevant standards, regulations and industry practices.\nWork independently and collaboratively across office, remote-working and site environments.\nREQUIREMENTS\nA bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification, in Engineering, Energy, Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or another relevant discipline.\nStrong knowledge of CFD modelling using the ANSYS software package.\nA sound understanding of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.\nAn understanding of transient and steady-state modelling, turbulence models, radiation modelling, particulate modelling and scalar transport.\nThe ability to interpret architectural, civil, structural, MEP and specialist drawings.\nStrong organisational skills and attention to detail.\nThe ability to prioritise competing tasks and meet project deadlines.\nEffective communication and relationship-building skills.\nCompetency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint.\nMembership of, or a commitment to work towards, an appropriate professional qualification through an organisation such as IMechE, IET, IoP or IMA.\nDESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\nData centre cooling and optimisation.\nInternal or external airflow modelling.\nThermal comfort and indoor temperature studies.\nNatural ventilation and mixed-mode façades.\nAtria, auditoria, clean-room or industrial process studies.\nOutdoor thermal and pedestrian comfort assessments.\nCar park or tunnel ventilation.\nFire and smoke modelling.\nAtmospheric dispersion, particulate or air-intake and exhaust-separation studies.\nRhino, Grasshopper, SpaceClaim, Fluent Meshing or ANSYS DesignModeler.\nOpenFOAM, ParaView, FDS or 6SigmaRoom.\nAutoCAD, Revit or Navisworks.\nLinux and high-performance computing systems.\nProgramming or scripting using Python, C, C++, Excel VBA, Windows scripting or FORTRAN.\n\nWHATS IN IT FOR YOU!\nWe want our people to feel valued, supported, and able to thrive.
